First things first, the cashier is the very first person a customer is greeted by and welcomed by should not have such a horrible attitude and be so unpleasant. Sometimes, if someone can't put a smile on and at least pretend they are happy to be at work, they should not be the first face a customer sees. They either need to take a day off or work in the back, not dealing with customers face to face. I had to encounter the same cashier a little while later after we made out plates because i couldnt find a spoon anywhere so she was standing there with no one in line and i asked where i could get a couple spoo s from so i could feed my niece a nephew she pointed at the soup bar. I went and checked, and the container that usually holds the spoons was empty. I tried to inform her, and she literally turned her head away and went to talk to another employee. She not once mentioned where else I might could check for spoons or if I should ask another employee. I got absolutely no acknowledgment from her whatsoever food was not anything I was expecting. I couldn't believe they didn't have any mashed potatoes or broccoli on the bar to begin with. The rolls were not allowed to rise before they were put in the oven or something. They were very heavy feeling and looked like they were going to be very doughy tasting. They weren't what they normally are. Everything else except for the black-eyed peas was good. The reason I say yuck to the peas is because I HATE HATE HATE onions, and they had so many in there. I finally was able to get a gentleman working in the bakery area to get me a couple of spoons. Now, our waitress I can't believe I didn't get her name was the absolute best I have ever had in golden corral and she is one of the best I've had in a long long time at any restaurant. She was fast attentive and friendly and wore a beautiful smile the entire time.. She kept our drinks filled, &and the table cleaned and made sure we had clean plates. We never had to ask her for anything; she paid attention, and even though she had several several other tables, she made us feel like we were the only customers she had because she was on top of everything. I wish you could get service like this everywhere you go but it is limited far between these days. Thank you for the great service you gave my sister and her babies and myself It was very much appreciated and very...
Read moreI recently visited Golden Corral Buffet & Grill in Stockbridge, GA, while in town and was looking forward to indulging in a buffet spread. Overall, my experience was a mixed bag. The food quality ranged from decent to hit-or-miss, which is common for buffets, but I had some standout items and some disappointments.
Let’s start with the highlights: the ice cream was, as always, a crowd-pleaser! I also enjoyed the salad bar and the sweet potatoes, which were flavorful and well-prepared. The baked potatoes were another winner, and the rolls were soft and fresh. The fried shrimp with cocktail sauce was a nice touch, too.
However, I did encounter several letdowns. The steak was surprisingly tough, making it hard to enjoy, and while the mashed potatoes were thick, the dark brown gravy didn't suit my taste. The macaroni and cheese, greens, and green bean casserole were definitely not up to par, and I found the cabbage to be unappetizing. Cheese pizza was decent enough, but it didn’t stand out.
On the dessert front, the peach cobbler was delightful, especially when paired with ice cream. The sweet potato pie was also good, though it was very cinnamony. Unfortunately, the cheesecake didn’t impress me at all.
Our server, Jesse, was accommodating and attentive with drink refills, but there were times when I felt she could have been a bit more proactive. The total cost for two people came to $44, which included tax—a reasonable price for a buffet.., I guess.
One major downside was the state of the restrooms. The ladies' room had a very unpleasant odor, which was quite off-putting, while the men's restroom was in much better shape. It’s clear that the cleanliness of the facilities needs some attention.
Overall, while there were some enjoyable dishes and a friendly server, the inconsistencies in food quality and the restroom situation left me feeling underwhelmed. If you're in the mood for a buffet, Golden Corral might hit the spot, but be prepared for some misses along the way.
Also the server Jesse claimed she didn’t know the wifi password. I think that’s something every employee should know to accommodate guests and if they don’t know they should be able to instruct where the password...
Read moreMy In-laws and I, took my Mother-in-law to the Stockbridge, GA Golden Corral on 3/19/2023 to celebrate her 76th birthday. On this particular visit we had a large group of family members that arrived at different times within the 4:00 p.m hour of the day. Once my husband and I arrived with my Mother-in-law, I ask if I could go ahead and walk my Mother-in-law to a table where her other guest were due to her fragile elderly body, and come back to be with my husband and others still awaiting in the line, well the cashier agreed and I did just that. Once I made my way back to the line my husband was already fulling my daughter's and I cups. He paid for all of us we were then told that there was a problem with other guest of our family that came in either before or after us, I went to speak to the manager to try and calm any issues so that we can all enjoy what should have been a great birthday celebration for our Mother's 76th BIRTHDAY, the manager spoke to me and explained that she didn't know if a group that big was stealing by sneaking in to the restaurant. I went to all of our guest and ask for each table to put their receipts on the table so that the matter could be handled without any problem. After seeing everyone's receipts she still proceeded to tell us that she wanted us to leave. As any other paying customer would do, we all asked her why? She then says that she has the right to refuse service to anyone, and that now she is excusing her right as manager. I asked her what was the problem, because my husband and I had just PAID AND WANTED OUR MONEY BACK. She says that she didn't care who paid she wanted the whole group out and that she wasn't giving any refunds back at all, and then proceeded to call the police on us. As the cops came to escort us out of the building, the embarrassment and humiliation was over the top. As of today we still haven't gotten an answers from Golden Corral, or the GM as to where is our refund and an apology. I plan on taking this situation as far as it needs to go, so that this do not happen to anyone else. Hiring a lawyer for what should have been an easy exchange of respect...
