1942 Social — Restaurant in Georgia

Such a poor experience AND LAST! During my husband's birthday celebration! We reserved for almost 20 ppl! When we arrived our tables werent ready ( we were a little early) We were going to mingle, buy drinks and wait and listen to music but we were told by the lady at the checkin desk and Another Lady whom I assumed was a manager to wait in our cars (20 plus ppl) or outside on their COLD patio with 1 working heater (they tried to fix 1 other during our over1 hour wait) I told my 77 year old motherInLaw to stay inside but the manager lady stood in the area where we were standing with her arms crossed looking crazy until we all left out ...we couldnt even order drinks bcuz she wanted us all to leave out and said she would send us a waitress out to the outside cold patio (we never got that!) I was ready to leave THEN but we didnt want to inconvience that many ppl to move to another sports bar and we had more ppl coming! Well after about 45 minutes or more with all our guests in the cold and watching them allow ppl that were standing in line periodically in, we decided to move our party! Then a wait staff told us they cleared an area....mind you the area immediately to the right when you walk in was clear when we FIRST got there! WE HAD RESERVATIONS WHICH IS A JOKE HERE! Some of our 20 plus party wanted to stay but the majority including the birthday King and I were over it! We came in And set in the area.They finally Created for us after over an hour as the guests made a decision And so that they could get out the cold.....after 5 minutes the majority was pissed and Did not want to spend money in that establishment.So we all decided to leave and my husband made a call to the old Whiskey Tees and they had 2 sections for ALL of my guests , even though we lost at least ten people due to them not wanting to stand in the cold and wait any longer. Fortunately we had a great ending at another bar with no problem! Upon walking out , I must say that we were approached by A young lady Nakita? that said she was the manager and she had just gotten there And ask what happened.I told her briefly because it was too much to Even worry about ....we were Done with The whole situation.... She was even nice Enough to text me and offer a free dinner for me and my husband but the customer service From those two main women and how we were treated and the amount of people we had there left a bad taste in our mouth.... its too many great places in atlanta for us to go to and spend our money or our time ///It will never happen again! Last night 3/24 I tried this bar. I'm a blogger who tries different establishments around the city. A little birdy put this one on my list. I'm going to write my experience as detailed as I can. So first impression of building was very bright and welcoming. Security was thorough searched all through my things. They check id's at the door so make sure to bring that. The music is great jams but extremely too loud! You can't hold a conversation unless you speak directly into someone's ear. So loud my companion and I had to text what we were saying to eachother. Then the seating area is cluttered a bit. They offer hookahs so that's a bonus. Let's get to the meals it took almost an hour to get our food. I ordered steak meal, and my husband got the vegan burger. The food was the best part of the night. It was delicious. The drinks were good but came in double shot glasses. They aren't big enough for the prices they charge. They dont have prices on the menu for the alcoholic beverages. We had 4 drinks total and it cost us over 100 dollars. We felt rushed by 1:20 when hours state until 2am. Just a very ackward experience all together. They also charge 18% gratuity if you spend over 50 dollars , and two drinks will put you over 50.00 here. My suggestion will be lower the music some, have bigger glasses for overpriced alcoholic drinks, and have the food out faster than an hour. We spent 200.00 and we feel robbed. You cant order what you want cause its entirely to loud for your waitress to hear you. I had to to damn near kiss her ear. It's a nice place. Of the three times I've been each experience was different. None were bad. The first was late night after 11 and we had drinks and food. My friends loved the food and drinks. I did not eat and my drink was ok. It was something I had never had . The experience was a 7.

The second time was a 9. We did not know about reservations and could not get in. So I asked to call us if their was a cancellation . Within 10-15 min. we got a call. Saw a live band . Had pretty good seats considering. The food was great the drinks were better. Through a glitch I ordered the wrong drink . Because of their policy it could not be sent back But the drink was not bad . Just make sure you are on the same page . All in all had a great time. $$-$$$ depending on your order and entertainment fee and another charge gratuity. They also offer hookahs (hope I spelled it right) . The age group seems to be 20-30 something depending on the time and events . Mixed age group when live entertainment and mostly younger crowd at other times .

Our most recent time was to just to get drinks. Did not have reservation. We were seated immediately but it was quite a while before we were able to order. It was an oversight and management immediately came to the rescue after they became aware. Got orders and drinks right this time. The drinks and food were great . Rate a 7.
