Hacienda McDonough exceeded all of our expectations and made my son's fifth birthday celebration truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure a delightful experience. They greeted us with smiles and even surprised my son with balloons and a cookie, which instantly made him feel special.

The service was impeccable throughout the entire visit. The staff was attentive, courteous, and genuinely seemed to enjoy being a part of the celebration. It was evident that they cared about creating a memorable experience for each customer.

One of the highlights of our dining experience was the outstanding food. The menu offered a wide variety of delicious options, and everything we ordered was prepared to perfection. The flavors were bold and authentic, and the presentation was visually appealing. Whether it was the sizzling fajitas, the savory enchiladas, or the mouthwatering tacos, every dish left us craving for more.

The addition of a robot to their service team was an exciting touch. It's wonderful to see how technology is being integrated to enhance customer experiences. While the robot's role might have been more of a novelty, it certainly added to the overall fun atmosphere, especially for my son, who found it fascinating.

I would like to give this place no stars however, that was not an option. My experience here tonight was horrible! Let me start off by saying that I have been to other Mesquite locations and had no issues but this particular location was not like the others. There was a power outage tonight that affected the restaurant. I was already seated and had already ordered my food prior to the outage happening. While they were able to still cook and serve food (I'm assuming due to a generator that was only connected to the kitchen) they were unable to cash out any tickets using a debit or credit card. The waiter tells us it's going to be cash only as we attempted to finish our food while eating by flashlight from our phones. I asked to speak to the manager as I don't usually carry cash however, I happened to have $40 in cash with me. The remaining total was $5.39. I spoke with the manager and asked him if due to the inconvenience of the lights could I pay the $40 and be compensated for the $5.39. He absolutely refused stating that the lights going out was not his doing. He said I would have to go to an ATM and get the cash. I told him that I understood that was not his fault but due to the inconvenience I would think that he would let me pay him what I had. He said no again and I told him this was bad business. As we were leaving out to go to an ATM he insisted that one of us stay because he didn't trust that we would return with the money. I was like seriously but ok. I went and got the money and returned to the establishment to pay. I will NEVER go back to this restaurant because while I don't believe that the customer is always right I do believe that there should have been some type of grace extended being that this was a situation out of everyone's control. Also he made a lady who only had chips and salsa go to her car and find the $1 that she was short when trying to pay and leave. I wish I were there as I would have given her the dollar seeing as I had to pull out $20 to get the $5 and some change...

Unbelievably disappointed tonight!

Thursday Evening - April 9th, 2015

This was my go-to spot for Mexican food. We found it less than a year ago, and have been very happy with it thus far. But tonight was a different story.

I actually brought two new customers to the restaurant tonight to let them try "my" spot. Both say they will never be back!

The restaurant wasn't busy at all, but they had full staff. I arrived first and sat outside. I was greated quickly and placed an order for the chunky avocado dip. My drink and dip came out before I ever even received chips. The chips were stale and greasy. All three orders. End of the night get rid of the last chips I guess.

My first friend arrives and it's 10-12 minutes before they came out to get her drink order. She actually greated the staff on the way in, but guess they were too busy relaxing to come out right away.

My second friend arrives and we order. Chicken/Steak Fajitas for 2 and an order of quesadillas.

The fajitas were not sizzling and just over warm In temp. Steak was burnt on the edges and the grease on the veggies was thick and congealing. Just gross to eat. My friend barely ate 1/2 of one.

The quesadillas came w a side of shredded lettuce only. No sour cream or tomatoes like the picture and every other Mexican restaurant. My friend asked about the side as that's how she likes them expressing that it's also her first time there. The server just shrugged, mumbled something and walked off never bringing the side.

Now, as we were still there at closing, they proceeded to pack up the patio while we were finishing the last of our meal. The tables and chairs are metal and the staff proceeded to slide everything on the concrete to the side to stack. Finger nails on chalk board noise and so loud we couldn't here ourselves talking. Guess this is the queue to finish up...immediately.

Two new potential long term customers lost and I'll think hard before ever going back. Very embarrassed as I'm the one that talked...
