Overall review: Greeted apron arrival and for a party of 3 were told their would be a wait of 25mins it took 22mins. The greeter was deadpanned and robotic with no smile or happy expression, but still used polite words. The interior design is fun and inviting. Our server was fantastic, she had multiple tables and was always runnings with a smile on her face. She was hauling it and her attitude in her cramped and stressful situation was unparalleled. She had great knowledge of the menu. Our drinks never went empty and we were checked up on frequently! Came and ordered the all you can eat shrimp, when asked which 3 I chose the Parrot Isle Jumbo Coconut Shrimp, their NEW Crispy Dragon Shrimp, and their NEW Tequila Lime Shrimp. 2nd round I ordered the Garlic Shrimp Scampi, Grilled Shrimp Skewer, and Walt’s Favorite Shrimp. 3rd round I ordered the Popcorn Shrimp, and Shrimp Linguini Alfredo, rounding off all the options available for the new ultimate all you can eat shrimp deal for $22. May I say the table side salt and pepper are of high quality unite any usual restaurant. The dinner napkins were disposable but a do any and soft. Food took its time to come out and was slow. Bathrooms were not clean and had a light smell of a public restroom. Again want to compliment our server she was absolutely fantastic!
Food reviews:
Biscuits 5/5: Piping hot biscuits with baked outside and soft airy inside, very garlicky with a hint of cheese. Light garlic aroma as you bring it to ur mouth. In fact the more cooled one (still warm) I enjoyed more. As far as biscuits go these are one of the best.
French fries: 4/5 Very crispy very potatoey with soft hot inside! Overall a good fry.
Coconut shrimp 3.5/5 Okay shrimp nothing spectacular with nice crunchy flakey breading. The sause it was paired with was to die for.
Pina colada sauce 5/5: Yea that’s right it’s as good as it sounds a creamy coconut kick with smooth sweet pineapple afterthought with chunks in the sause itself so so so good!
Dragon shrimp 4.3/5: Honey consistency on the sweet and spicy Asian inspired shrimp battered and cooked almost to perfection on a bed of Asian slaw, overall some great shrimp! The sauce to my taste buds was a mix of sweet chili sause and Tabasco.
Asian slaw 2/5: Tastes packaged and not fresh. Not restaurant quality
Tequila lime shrimp 3.8/5: Perfectly grilled with a charred taste, lime comes from the tajin so it’s decent but had potential to be better. Served with a citrusy sause and bed of brown rice. The shrimp itself is great, bigger than their “jumbo” and bouncy and flavorful, overall a decent shrimp
Tequila lime sause 3/5: Thick and citrusy decent and definitely a perfect pair, just could have been great!
Brown rice 1/5 Minute rice, over cooked and like plastic
Walt’s Shrimp 2.5/5: Battered and fried but too salty with a overpowering cocktail sauce and not much flavor on the shrimp, overall it tasted like something only a kid would eat and love.
Cocktail sauce 2/5: Overpowering and too punchy for my taste. Not very good
Grilled skewer 5/5: Fantastic Smokey charred, just moist enough, bouncy and potent shrimp! One of the best shrimp I’ve had! A classic timeless taste!
Garlic skampi: 2.7/5: Nothing special the sauce was more of a grease then a buttery rich goodness. Garlic was almost washed and fell flat. Overall ehh.
Popcorn shrimp 1.6/5 A bad Kids meal quality with the not very great cocktail sauce… all that needs to be said.
Alfredo 4.1/5: Served with tails on which was interesting. But the dish was a side pasta dish and was very good! Buttery smooth and savory Alfredo sauce that wrapped the noodles like a blanket. Noodles long and Al dente just the right spongey-ness. Shrimp small and basic, but to be expected with a pasta dish, overall a great...
Read moreI visited this Red Lobster location for a special occasion and, unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. While our server (Nora) started off friendly and welcoming, she quickly disappeared. After nearly 15 minutes without service, I asked another waitress to please assist me by letting Nora know of my concerns and that we were looking for her. However, my request was never relayed to Nora and to make matters worse, I later noticed (the other waitress actually sitting down on break). Therefore, nothing was done (for another 5 minutes) so I had to walk upfront to as for the manager.
When I addressed the issue with the manager (whose name was Destiny), she initially apologized but made an excuse as well. However, she eventually admitted that they were short-staffed and the kitchen was behind. While I understand that staffing challenges and delays can happen in the restaurant industry, clear communication with customers is essential and that was completely lacking during our visit.
To her credit, Destiny went above and beyond to try to make things right. She replaced Nora by finishing waiting on us, she brought out our order, comped our meal, provided a free dessert, and she even gave us a special occasion card signed by her staff. I appreciated Destiny's late efforts (after we were dissatisfied with no communication from Nora) and her numerous apologies but by that point, the damage had already been done. I told her my complaint was NOT about trying to get a free meal. They needed better customer service and needed to improve as it relates to communication.
My biggest disappointment is that what should have been a joyful celebration was overshadowed by poor communication and unprofessional service. I gave Red Lobster another chance despite their recent struggles, but based on this experience, I will not be returning to this...
Read moreAbsolutely repulsive. You guys are going to make someone sick selling bad , rotten seafood. And that is UNACCEPTABLE. I’ll let a LOT of stuff slide with restaurants but seafood that smells of ammonia, and just looks rotten….at the price point that I’m paying….no. Not only that , I did NOT get what was pictured nor what I paid for. I will say , the young man who brought my food out via curbside was extremely professional and friendly. Wish he had prepared my food.
I ordered the “Bar harbor lobster bake”. A scampi pasta , with linguine, tomatoes, bay scallops , shrimp , mussels and split lobster tails. Only half of my container was filled , 2 compartments were not ,and I’ve gotten this dish previously from another location, in a different state. I know what the portion size looks like. Like the one in the picture on the site.
My mussels were clearly very old. I’ve never seen them look the way that I recieved them. They were littler sticky , and stuck to the shell ….had an off smell and off color.
The lobster tails…there were 3. And all 3 smelled of amonia. A very strong stench. Fresh lobster has no smell.
The scampi sauce was extremely watery , and had no zero flavor. I was extremely disappointed in picking this restaurant for which was supposed to be a great meal , in return for a long , hard week of work before traveling for the holidays. What I ate of it , made me extremely sick the next day. I had the runs all day long. Very disappointing.
I called the location that same night to make them aware of what I had recieved. The manager sounded like he was annoyed, like I was bothering him and he could have cared less. He promised a refund , which I have yet to receive.
Very disappointed with the way I was handled by this restaurant. I will NEVER , ever go to a red lobster establishment again. And definitely would not reccomend...
