Through my own experiences at Olive Garden, I have felt that it was a very welcoming establishment, but I just think it is an average place to just grab a quick dinner with your family. Although it has a variety of food options, it is not the best there is. It does have some good qualities like unlimited bread and salad, but also some major downfalls. The customer service could also use some improvements. The price range is not too bad, for what you get.
Yes, the unlimited bread, salad and soup is delicious but, in my opinion, I've had better Italian food. The overall service was okay, and the food was just not what I expected. The times I've gone the bread is cold and the salad never has enough dressing, maybe it's just me but the quality of the food could be better. I've tried the fettuccini Alfredo its good, but the chicken sometimes needs a little bit more time cooking, I've also had the chicken and shrimp Carbonara its pretty good. When I was younger is used to love the food, it was my favorite but as I grew up, I tired different Italian restaurant's and I've found good options, but I would come again back every now and then.
The customer service is overall is good, I've gone in groups of six to twelve people, and we were seated in an average of thirty minutes. But when it came to finally ordering the food and drinks we waited and waited until a server finally came. I understand there is a short staff and since there were so many if us it would take longer to get the food out, but the server didn’t even check in on us or refill our drinks throughout that time. Once the food was brought out it was cold as if it was sitting there for a while. It just felt we were there longer than we could have been because of it.
The pricing was like any other restaurant chain, it was an average price for a family sit-down restaurant, it wasn’t too bad. It has your typical wines and alcoholic beverages and fountain drinks, but in my opinion, your total would be the same even if you go anywhere else. I've also gone with just a party of three people and the check came out to about 60 dollars not including tip. You are definitely getting what you are paying for. It is a good option if you are going in a big group and are kind of on a budget of not spending too much money on dinner.
I think this review could be helpful to anyone who is looking to eat at olive garden and wants to know the quality of the food and how the servers deal with bigger parties. The food isn't awful I just would much rather go to a different Italian restaurant. It's just my honesty opinion the restaurant should get a better system to get the food out quicker, but I also understand the shortage of employees. It’s just an average restaurant to have a quick dinner with your family after you’ve done some shopping at the mall or some fun at the arcade games nearby. Overall, my experiences haven't been too bad. I would never go back to this restaurant. It's just the quality of the food sometimes that doesn't want me to go back but I always end...
Read moreWe debated where to eat as it was father's day. Was fairly early and picked olive Garden by the Mall of GA.
We arrived at 5 pm and asked for a table for 4. We were put on the wait list, that maybe was 2min (I found it odd). We were seated with a waitress who just had a large party seated. Maybe the hostess put us in the wrong booth???
After a few min taking their drink order, waitress was nice and apologized and said would be by shortly but was just seated with the large table. Having waited tables prior, I found it odd why she didn't just take our drink order then as well. Or ask a co-worker or manager to assist. I should have known it wasn't going to be a good dinner then. However, I was trying to be optimistic and relaxed.
It wasnt until their drinks were delivered before she came back. That table was only 8 or 10 people. I'm not sure why she was too busy and we were not given the quality service that other tables received. It only looked like she had the us and that table.
There were other waitstaff that got seated with guests all around us, and the service looked good. We were all disappointed.
We were seated in the back, and it was too crowded. It got so loud you couldn't hear. So everyone kept getting louder. So basically we were forced to talk loudly or sit. The middle section of the building didn't look as crowded.
When able to greet us and take the drink order, we went ahead and placed the order for food. Drinks came out, salad came out, one order of breadsticks came out with no issues.
We asked for refills on a couple of drinks, and then ask for refill on salad. Got the refills and then food eventually came out. Food Runner never offered shredded parmesan on the entrees. Other than that food was great. Waitress eventually made it back (but glad we didn't wait to ask for cheese). When waitress came by later, we had to ask for drink refills.
We were never offered more breadsticks. When we were going to when asking for drink refills, she turned away quickly and tended to the other table.
The lack of attentiveness already had me annoyed. I was going to get some of the togo pasta items, but figured we didn't need another 30min added. They lost another $30 in sales there.
When we asked for to-go boxes, we asked for more breadsticks. She brought two of the three to go boxes and said the breadsticks were in the oven. Asked and reminded her for the third box. Then she brought the Third, and then stated they were having oven problems and breadsticks would be coming out later. At that point, I had already paid and we had already boxed up most of the leftovers.
During the dinner, we had accumulated 4 empty glasses some sat the entire meal. We had a consistent small stack of plates towards the end. No manager was seen in the dining area or I would have mentioned something. Very disappointed for a dinner $100, and seriously regret we didn't...
