Ike's Love & Sandwiches — Restaurant in Gilbert

I was looking forward to trying this place out after I heard some of the hype about how great their sandwiches are. I got the Matt Cain combo and I asked for banana peppers on it as well. When looking at the menu, it had a picture of the sandwich with lettuce, onions and tomato so that was what I was expecting. After almost $20 for a very small bag of chips and a medium drink, I got my sandwich and to my surprise, no lettuce, onion or tomato was on it. So, I had to go to the counter and ask for them and after a little attitude, the worker shoved them into a little paper pouch together and handed it to me. The sandwich was nothing special at all. The meat was clumped onto different areas of the sandwich so as I ate it, I got some bites with turkey, some with roast beef and a few with salami. Why wouldn’t they spread it out so you get a bit of all of them in every bite? Anyhow, very over priced sandwiches that aren’t all that great. Plenty of parking in front including accessible parking. Inside they have a few high table stool-seats and also some booths; I wish they had more booth/lower-style tables... Other than that, seating area is clean and great service. The employees were welcoming, friendly, and efficient. The food also was really good- very fresh veggies (just note the veggies don't come with the sandwiches so ask away for whatever veggies you want). Love how the bread wasn't soggy and just the right amount of crispy. Also, love how the sub wasn't overly piping hot and just the right amount of toasted. So good and the serving size is always so generous. It lasted me two meals that day, and got one of their candies in the bag. By the way, their salted chocolate cookie is so good- not overly sweet and love the salt...
