Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Gilroy

We had Kevin as our sever when we came into the restaurant there was 3-4 servers and 10 tables. All tables were between 2-4 per table mine was 5.  Took between 5-10min for the server to come over.  Drinks came out fast. Kevin took our food order and we'll it took a little longer than normal for the food to come out.2 Mac n cheese & fries, 1 corndog & fries, 1 cheeseburger meal, and 1 med bourbon steak and shrimp w/mash potatoes was our order. Finally when the food came my food was wrong they brought bourbon chicken  and shrimp. The runner took it back. Kevin came over and said "sooo you didn't want the bourbon chicken and shrimp"  I replied no and he said ok I'll get that for you, and that was the end of his service with us. The cups were empty on table and he never offered a refill. About 20min later another server brought a bourbon steak with Mash potatoes.....no shrimp.  Kevin never came back to table the remainder of our time there. I'm not one to ask for a manager or be rude as I have been in the food industry myself I understand misunderstandings happen, but in reality he stopped doing his job and left our table unattended. Not one apology for mishap or for the unfilled cups. Kevin was still helping the table behind us so I know he wasn't on break.  I took 2 bites of the steak and decided I'm was done. Waited even longer for someone to bring us the check. The host came by to seat another table I asked him if he could get someone to bring my check. Kevin printed it and I watched him hand it to another server to bring to me. Once again I'm not a difficult guest I never gave an attitude or mean look for him to not help us. He just decided not help since he messed up.  I completely understand their is a shortage of employees but at this restaurant were the other tables were being serviced frequently  this was not the case for this shift on this day. If they were short cooks and that's why it took longer for food to come out I understand, but for no refills or even a table touch was uncalled for.  Also I had to get up to get my bill paid as I walked up and he saw me and took off...

We came here after NorCalRenFaire so we could get food before driving home. We are all regretting this decision to come here.

We arrived and were told it would be a half hour wait. We put our name on the list and stepped outside to wait until we were called. Another group from RenFaire arrived shortly after, and they joined us outside. The other group was called first, despite us having a similar size group. My husband went in to see what happened and they said they called our name with no response. That was not true. They didn't open the door and call our name like every other group.

They finally got us seated and we ordered pretty quickly, drinks then food within a couple minutes of each other. However, even the drinks, including my water, took quite some time to get to our table.

I will say that our servers were on point and communicated every step of the way.

Once the food arrived, my husband checked his steak to be sure it was cooked to Medium Rare as he requested. It was Well Done. He requested a redo. My companion's and my food were both tougher than it should have been, but we ate it anyway, even though my companion only ate one rib out of her half-rack. She also asked for a refill on her drink. The steak took an additional 3 attempts (super rare "reheated" medium) which resulted in manager involvement. By that time my companion and I had long finished our food. My companion's refill came back as a different drink entirely.

What should have been a half hour meal before getting on the road home turned into an hour+ of crankiness and exhaustion. I do not recommend coming here after an event like RenFaire. I know it's Applebee's and not a high class restaurant, but we have set the bar really low and only asked for the food to arrive as we asked. As in, per the menu, and Medium Rare for the steak, and in a timely manner. They could not...

I like the food but the service is worst.they gave us a table under the sun after we wait for the long line then we been waiting for the server for 30mins to get our order no one came so we requested we can move to shaded table and they said no because once they seat you can't move to another table. Then we said ok,then no server yet till my freind get up and call someone because we're getting hungry then finally server came and took order of 2 baby back ribs ,then another waiting for 30 mins,then our order only comes 1 order only and w÷ thought the other one will followed so my freind is waiting while I cant start to eat because we're waiting for the 2nd order 15 min we ask the server where is my freind order,then she check and said ohh did you order 2 and I said yes OMG! Then another waiting for the 2nd orderthen we ask for the chip that they suppose to serve on the 1st time you seat but never came..until the 2nd order comes..then we oder it with rice and server didnt ask what rice do we likes because there's different flavors..my rice came with like greens colored and for me it was not good taste like weird I cant explain so I call the server and I said I don't eat that kind of rice so ask if there's another flavor and another rice came in like yellow orange color so I'm almost done eating the 1st oder so I just let my freind eat the rice..water also came only 1glass bcause I oder orange juice they don't even give me a glass of water..this is a worst expirience with them..im not going back there again...we are there for whole for2.5hrs...
