Worst service, waited to be seated for about 10 minutes, waited about 15 minutes for a server to come and take our drink order, I had to ask if I could place an appetizer order right then. They were NOT busy, 3 servers working and we were table #6 in the building. Finally got our drinks and placed our order. Once the appetizer arrived, $10, very small plate of fried pickles, we were told our food order had been put in. Our food arrived. The Steak & Pepper Skillet wasn't in a skillet, at all. It was in a small bowl with a handle. The brown gravy was THICK, DARK, and seemed to be old. The Teriyaki Glazed Pork Chops, were not Glazed the sauce was poured on top after they were plated. Mashed potatoes were DRY despite having "cream gravy" on top. Plate was sloppy, gravy and Teriyaki sauce was running off the plate. When our server brought our food she said she'd be right back with drinks. We were almost done eating by the time she came back to the table, without our drinks, and said, "Shoot, I forgot your drinks." then she walked away. She came back 5 minutes later with drinks and asked if everything was ok. I explained that it was not. She said, "I got distracted." I told her to go ahead and go back to whatever was distracting her. She then sent the "manager" to our table. She offered to remove things from our bill, we explained that isn't the reason we were complaining and that we'd pay for the things we ordered. She then offered free desserts, we refused again. She said, "Look, I was trained to offer free or discounted food when I get a complaint." I said, "Look, we aren't complaining to get free food. We are wanting to let you know that some things need changed & fixed." She walked away and said she'd go get our check. There were 3 adults in our party, after bringing the check and setting it on the table she asked if it was all together. We said, "Yes, it is." and she walked away. I left a note on a napkin.... It read, "TIP: get a different job." and we went to the cash register to pay for our meal. There was a couple sitting behind us, had been there for about 20 minutes and NO ONE had checked on them until the manager herself did, after sitting our check on the table. We waited to pay for quite some time, behind a family that had been waiting for about 5 minutes. Finally, the manager came to the register and started taking our money. When it was my turn I said, "You shouldn't be having to do everyone's job." Her response was rude. She said, "This place was really busy earlier, these are just teenagers working. It's been a real dumpster fire today. It's fine." I paid and said, "It hasn't been busy the entire time I have been here and I've been in here quite a while." and walked out. I was in the parking lot, waiting outside for the smokers to smoke before getting in the vehicle and "the manager" came running outside screaming.... "IF this is the type of tip you're going to leave just don't leave one!!" holding the napkins I had left on the table in her hand, she had a server in tow...not my server but some random server. She said, "In fact, don't ever come back here again, you're no longer welcome here!!" I told her, "I will be in contact with the district manager and owner, if needed be and that I will not be returning." I have lived in this area for over 20 years, this is the SECOND time I have EVER been to this Perkins, I will be sure to NEVER return, no problem. She screamed, "My name is Kyra!!! K-Y-R-A!!!" and ran back inside. A customer, exited the building a couple moments later, an older lady and said, "I dont know what happened but this is a place of business and this stuff should not happen." I replied, "Yeah, tell me about it." She got in her car and left, as did we.
I will be reaching out to someone above her. I wouldn't want me restaurant ran in the manner that it was ran today. It...

Read moreI have only posted good restaurant reviews previously, but this experience was "special."
Took family here Saturday morning. Wasn't very busy. Maybe 30% full. First time at this location, so can't say if it's typical or a one off. Bad experience.
Waiter took our order including a breakfast we'd split for 2 young children and my wife. So 4 people, 2 items ordered. Then we overhear waiter telling another table they are short handed in the kitchen, so food is coming out slow. That's ok. Things happen.
He brings us the extra plates for the kids, and they are very dirty. Not a little dirty. Food stuck on both and wet dirty fingerprints on both where they grabbed them. Like they pulled them out of a bus tub and rinsed them a little. Ok, this is them just not even trying, but we'll just get another set when he comes back.
He drops off the syrup tray, and the maple jar is so grungy you can't even see through the glass. So now we're thinking "Do we really even want to eat anything here given their observed dishwashing performance so far?"
That decision made easy as everyone around us that came in well after us starts getting their food. We're out. I think this is the 2nd time I've ever walked out after ordering.
I decided to write this as I'm sitting in a Perkins in Idaho. Completely different experience, typical of Perkins. Decent food, clean atmosphere, a dishwasher that's clearly operational, and employees that are at least trying.
And if you're thinking the waiter was just running around busy and missed some things, no. He was just talking to a table up the isle.
Maybe a one off situation, but it certainly seemed that this location needs to pull...
