I want to gatekeep this restaurant so bad, but with how amazing the food and service is, they deserve everything.

My boyfriend and I have lived in the north land for a long time now and we have never seen saki before. On occasion we would drive past and always say “we need to try this place” and forget about in the next day. Well one special day rolled around and we wanted to eat out together at a place with good food and service but we didn’t want to drive all the way downtown. And I’ll give my boyfriend the credit he found Saki and mentioned that they had nearly 5 stars, so we had to try it! Oh boy do they deserve 6 stars! I wish I could try this place for the first time again because it’s so good. My boyfriend likes saki so much after we tried it the first time, he came back not even 2 days after(without me!)

First off not only do they have a great range of food from Chinese to Japanese to Thai, but they perfected the American Chinese flavors AND the authentic flavors. WHOEVER is cooking back there is proud of the food they are making because it’s damn good EVERY TIME. Not only is the flavor amazing and well balanced every time but the quality on the food is spectacular. Especially in the sushi the rice is well cooked and their fish is so fresh, never once even thought the fish was too fishy or off, it’s fresh and you can taste it, also handled with the most care. everything is plated BEAUTIFULLY.

The fried rice is gonna get its own section. This will be the best fried rice you will EVER have and I’m willing to bet everything on it. It’s color isn’t over saturated with soy sauce, they actually a beautiful nutty aroma to it. Wonderful full bodied taste which is how all fried rice should be. Great alone or paired with anything else. First time having the fried rice (and honestly anything on their menu) my boyfriend and I were genuinely speechless, mouth agape and everything. And if you are Asian and grew up in the north land, you understand that all the good Asian restaurants are in overland, and they’re fried rice is how you typically find them over there SAKI IS THE ONLY PLACE THAT HAS THIS FRIED RICE in the northland. Best fried rice. Point blank period.

And as a server myself, the service is wonderful here. Staff is attentive and knowledgeable if you have any questions, everyone is willing to help and they all seem to be proud of the good they are serving, they know their food is good. And usually it seems they’re is a main guy, Chris, what a great guy. Genuinely so sweet and kind not only to my boyfriend and i but incredibly kind when I bring my baby brother around.

Both my boyfriend and I joke about going to this place everyday because it so good. The first week after trying this place for the first time, we couldn’t stop thinking about it. We love saki, I LOVE saki.

Please bring this place a lot of love, a lot of good fortune, and I hope you can fall in love with saki just as much as I did. Best Chinese restaurant in the northland, dare I say all of KC.

This was my first time here, and boy, was it an experience. I walked in with a question before I was seated. I asked if they have tap-to-pay because I lost my card. They said yes and sat me down in the 3rd booth. I looked at the menu, and about a minute from sitting down, the waitress greeted me and asked what I would like to drink. I knew I wanted a beer, so I ordered a Saporro. She brought the drink in a bottle, took one sip, and said, 'I need a mug.' So, I asked for a mug when she brought me some water. She brought a cold mug, and I was ready to order. I ordered a Salmon, Yellowtail, and Veggie roll from the lunch specials menu. I love trying rainbow rolls from different restaurants to see how they differ. I was about 2 pages into the book I brought when they gave me my sushi on a cute plate. I would say little, but it was a big plate. I open my chopsticks, get about a teaspoon of wasabi, and put it in the sauce dish. I then poured the low-sodium soy sauce on top. I eat the salmon and yellowtail since they are close to me, but I am also saving the best for last. While I am eating the veggie roll, the server checks on me. The veggie roll surprised me; I liked it, but I didn't expect to find a leafy type vegetable in there. I ate the rainbow roll last. It was delicious. I think the crab was a little overpowering, but that is the difference between this one and the previous ones I've tried. Near the end of my last roll, I finished my beer and requested another, but a different type, Asahi. I sat there, drank my beer, and read about 4 pages when the male server or owner brought me a little square coffee cake. I was so happy; I took a bite before taking a picture of it. Two chapters read, and the beer was gone. And only a tiny square of the coffee cake was left. Ate it, swallowed it, reveled in the taste. I got up, paid, used the bathroom, which was clean, and I liked the leaf picture, and then left. Yes, the food and drinks were great. The atmosphere was clean, interesting to look at, and accompanied by nice music, making it great. The service was excellent; the men and women serving were very attentive, and they provided excellent customer service. Thanks for being one of the best customer service restaurants I've eaten at in...

Last night my wife and son and I went to Saki for the second time. My wife already left a review but I feel compelled to leave one as well. Both times we dined at Saki were simply amazing. Chris (the owner) seats the guests, serves tables, takes phone calls, prepares food and still takes the time to be so kind to all of his guests. The amazing service is a good enough reason to keep coming back.

Now for the food. Last time I went I got 3 sushi rolls and each one was so fresh and tasted great. I’ve eaten a lot of sushi and often you find that the sushi seems almost stale. The rice can be hard and dry at times but not at Saki. They make everything fresh and you can tell. My second visit I got the drunken noodles with chicken. And again I was impressed with how fresh it tasted. I asked for it to be spicy and the spicy sauce they use tasted so good. Both visits we also got crab rangoon, and I genuinely think it’s some of the best I’ve ever had. A nice crunch on the outside and so very creamy on the inside. We also tried their sugar donuts. And after trying them I feel like all the other ones I’ve tried before were a lie. I sound like a broken record but it was just so fresh tasting. We didn’t get something that was flash fried and sitting under a heat lamp. We ate something that was made right when we ordered it.

Overall I give them 100/10. The Gladstone area is so lucky to have a restaurant like this in our community. My family and I will definitely be returning again and again and we will also be telling all our friends and family...

The restaurant is a smaller location but that doesn't hinder the excellent food and service they have!! The Crunchy Roll was creamy and had a savory flavor with the cream cheese and eel sauce, the yellowtail roll we had was subtle and tasty. We had takoyaki as an appetizer that had a savory sauce and wasn't drowning in bonito flakes, the taste was excellent and left me wanting more. The Thai tea we had was bold and stronger with all the spices used to flavor the drink, an excellent pair with the lighter flavor of the rolls. For our entrees we had the honey chicken and the general Tso's chicken both of which were again light and subtle with the seasonings but we're not lacking in flavor at all. Spice was there but not over powering, sweetness present but not drowning. Our meal was finished with complementary raspberry and coffee tea cakes, which was a very nice and pleasant surprise. Finally the over all price for two people having an appetizer, two rolls, two entrees, a drink and dessert was just $45, making the entire meal well worth the price!! We absolutely plan to come back many more times!!
