This was my first time at the Five Guys restaurant. I visited Glendale location. They play very loud rock music, which is pretty annoying because it is not to everyone's taste and all the noise makes it chaotic and disorienting. It's a place for food consumption, not a rock concert. Because of this staff and patrons have to yell in each other ears. Interior decor is 50's Americana, which I find ugly. Service, seating, and bathroom were OK. For some reason they had a big barrel of free peanuts in the middle of the restaurant that felt silly and out of place. Why? It's not a bar. How about lowering your prices instead of giving away free peanuts? Overall the atmosphere was pretty unwelcoming. You can have a much better eating experience at your local McDonald's. Their food is way overpriced for what's offered. I was charged $14.40 total for a hamburger, regular size fries, and a regular size drink. I heard that they were pricey, but had to try anyway. Quality and taste wise their hamburger was no different than what you can get at Wendy's, while Burger King's Whopper tastes even better. Also, the hamburger was too stacked which made it impossible to hold and it came apart pretty quickly, creating a big mess. Their fries are freshly made, but they are too soggy, oily and salty. They lacked flavor and didn't taste that good to me. I really don't understand what's with all the hype about Five Guys, in my opinion they're just overrated. For good quality hamburgers you can visit such tried and true local places like Culver's, Kopp's, and Bubba's. I, for one, will never go back to the Five...
Read moreI always feel like they have consistent, yummy burgers. Hubby goes with me, but this isn't his favorite joint. He says there just isn't anything special here. I kind of agree - I can't say there's anything special about these burgers, but it is always comforting somehow. Anyone else know what I mean? lol
I tend to order online and pick up. So far, they have NEVER been made on time. Like, NEVER. We always have to wait for them to finish the order. I think they don't pay attention to the online orders until we come inside. And it's not like they're super busy in there either. Maybe one or two other customers inside when we walk in... but nothing is ever ready. So I'm still not sure with what's up with that.
This last visit, I got a bun-less burger, wrapped in lettuce. They really did an overkill on the lettuce. See pic.
So normally, with all this, I would have docked more stars... but for some reason, I still keep coming back. And after the long wait and peeling off half of the lettuce, the taste still lingers. So a...
Read moreI wish I could give ZERO stars. This place is AWFUL!!! 🤢😡 SO over priced and over hyped. Almost $20 for a SINGLE cheeseburger, small fries and regular soda! 🤬 I live in MILWAUKEE, not New York City! SO much salt and grease. 🤢 I took a sip of my friend's chocolate shake and it was worse than McDonald's. They're "vegetarian" option is NOT low calorie or even appealing. I recall it has green peppers, onions, mushrooms and cheese. They have NO low calorie options. Offer a SALAD!!!
Note: Almost, if not all, their "awesome" reviews are from local papers of which there are thousands in the U.S. 🤔 Also, just because they never freeze their meat doesn't mean it's high quality.
I do not understand the appeal. I will NEVER eat here again.
You want an amazing burger, fries and shake? Go to CULVERS! Order a plain cheeseburger and enjoy the high...
