Thai Boat Noodles | Authentic Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in Glendale

We were excited to try this place as we love Thai food. The server was polite, our food came fast, however some of the items listed on the menu were not available. The Red Thai Curry cup barely had any meat in it, and was very bland and watered down. My Pad Thai was very sweet, so was the peanut sauce that came with the spring rolls. We had no condiments on the table, I had to ask for salt which came from the kitchen in a small bowl and it was the coarse salt they probably use for cooking. They were condiments sitting right in the corner which should have been at all tables, but the server did not bother putting those for use once we got the food, one table had the condiments! I had to get the chilies myself because it actually gave the food more of a flavor, without it the food was just average. Once she gave me the total, I was a little suspicious because it seemed higher than what I expected. I asked her if she had the itemized bill, once I asked for that, she panicked and told me to remove my card and claimed she made a mistake. Suddenly my bill was $10 less, she reversed the amount!!! I asked her why it was less, she said she messed up, which I did not believe. Initially I heard nothing but good reviews about this place but after visiting, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. Upon entering, the waiter/cashier was kind. We ordered our appetizer which was fried dumplings and our entrees were the beef pho/Kao Kra Pao Moo Kraw and papaya salad. The pho came out before the appetizer (not too big of a deal) but we ended up sitting for another 30-40 minutes waiting on the rest of our food. After time had passed we were told they forgot about the papaya and the waiter even said they gave away our fried dumplings to other customers. At this point we wanted to leave but decided to give them a chance. Unfortunately, the food was very salty and the papaya had no flavor. We ultimately decided to send the papaya back but were told we would still be charged despite us barely touching it (my wife and I took a bite each). The waiter/cashier gave us a difficult time and refused to be understanding of the entire situation. I walked past the signs/doors and was intrigued so after doing some shopping I came back. I thought it was going to be like fast food type setting like Panda Express but they actually do dine in/take out orders with more of a fine cuisine type service instead of fast food. I was going to walk out but then the associate greeted me and recommended a dish based on what I told her I liked, and she recommended a drink as well. She explained they don't serve boba since there already exists another boba spot and they legally can't compete I guess or something. Anyways I placed me order, took a seat, and within maybe 5-10 minutes the food came out. It was very fresh/hot, and the Thai matcha tea I ordered very delicious and refreshing. Great food, great service, and to think I almost walked out. 10/10 would recommend and will be going back...
