As a boba enthusiast, I was excited to try out Mochinut, but sadly, my visit left much to be desired.
I ordered an original corn dog and the dough was still very raw inside. My order took forever to come out. Only one cashier upfront taking and making orders very slowly. Had a hard time reading the small hand written signs about the Refreshers and Soft serve flavor + toppings they offered. No designated area to pick up food! As if the entrance isnāt busy enough and filled with people in line. The workers hand out food and drinks by the cash register, making it very hard to maneuver around. Drinks are pre-made and you donāt have the option to choose your source of milk (e.g Soy, Almond, or Oat). The drinks arenāt refrigerated as well. You can see the pre-made pitcher mix sitting in the back counter. So who even knows how long they have been sitting out for.
Overall, I was left disappointed by my experience and will not be returning. But to improve the boba shop experience, consider these changes: Provide staff with thorough training on product knowledge, preparation techniques, customer service, and designate a pick up order area. Change the signs and make them bigger so everyone knows what you offer. No one can read those small hand writings. Offer more dairy free, gluten free, and...

Also a lot of employees standing around unable to do much at certain times. Still frequently out of stock of certain things. Today they were out of general mochi ring doughnuts and only had the doughnut balls. Three out of 6 of the mochi doughnut balls I ordered were still kind of raw in the middle. Their corn dogs were there but are also in limited offering. They only have beef as an option with plain, hot cheetoes, or blue takis. Over all good corn dogs, best eaten right away. Their boba is decent as well. Surprised to see that they offer ube as a flavor. Also pleased to see Vietnamese coffee offered as well.
All and all this place can be hit or miss. Expect to wait and expect some things to be sold out on certain days.
I genuinely hope they succeed, but I also don't see myself rushing to come back unless I'm...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot just plain donuts... These are different, so don't go in expecting a cake donut. These are a little chewier, since they are made from glutenous rice. Flavors are light, not overpowered. Not greasy. Good change of pace, and I want to try more flavors.
Had donuts (mochi balls, small donuts, weren't available), and a half/half Korean dog. Half hot dog, half mozzarella cheese, dipped in a crunchy batter. Batter is a little sweet, I wish the cheese was slightly salty, but it was good nonetheless.
Had bubble tea, which was also good.
Being new, they were swamped, but the staff was handling it well. Friendly staff. Try the Fat Milk, which is Vietnamese coffee and condensed milk. That was very tasty and a good alternative to a Starbucks.
$6 for boba, $6.25 for the dogs, donuts were 3/$10. Pricey? A bit, but it's also a novelty too.. and the quality of the staff was worth it.
I'll come back. I want to get the coffee and try some...
