Great ramen spot! Very friendly, and upbeat staff. We ordered to go…was not sure how the ramen experience would translate via to go. But they packaged the broth separately from the rest. Mix at home, and boom! It was great! We got their signature ramen. Two bowls it was about 40 bucks including a take out tip of 18%. The restaurant was nice, and well attended when I grabbed our order for take out. The timing provided was accurate. The order was fresh and ready! One note, it is on the second floor of the structure just south of the main Honolulu boardwalk. Easy to get to, just remember it’s on floor two! Plenty of street parking around, and some structure parking as well! We will be back! Thanks! Sept 2023: we love this spot. And the team is so nice, and friendly. They make you feel like family, even when you’re just doing take out!! Jan 2025: great to eat inside too. They have a cool outdoor wrap around patio. And very tasty non-ramen items. We really liked their salmon rolls. Gyoza was great too. SoPasadena roll is solid. Chicken Don is great value and tasty. Highly reco; we go often!

Not sure where to begin but let’s go with the Ramen brittle Green Tea Ice cream. Yes, dessert first for the review ha! The ramen brittle was unexpectedly bomb. When I saw it on the menu, I had no clue what it meant… just another unique eats to try. The green tea flavoring of the ice cream was REALLY light. Good texture though. It’s bigger than it looks on the menu. I was eating solo for dinner and since I already had a huge ramen, I couldn’t finish it. I think it was a serving for 3 people after each person eating a huge ramen. For the ramen I had the tonkotsu black ramen and added some spice to it. It’s a large serving. I finished it because It was so good! The richness of the broth was remarkable. Texture and smoky flavor of the chicken kept pushing me to finish every bite of it. I got seated quick around 6:30p Saturday night. I was a solo diner. The space is small inside but there’s an outside I couldn’t see how big it was.

Let me start off by saying I'm not a huge ramen fan or well use to not be. The majority of my ramen consumption has been the little packs you make at home that cost $1. I have tried maybe 2 other ramen spots and was very let down that it was not what I expected from ramen.

Not Kontentsu!!! They have completely changed my Outlook and love for ramen. Now it was a serious mission to find this place, as my wife and I had no idea there was a parade happening that night so all of the street to get to this place were blocked off and the fog and rain didn't help. After driving around for what felt like forever, we finally made it! We open the door and were greeted with the most amazing smell. We were quickly seated by the friendly staff, looked at the menu and placed an order. Tempura green beans for starters and 2 bowls of shoyu (chicken broth ramen with chicken, egg and added gyoza).

The ramen was out of this world good! So rich in flavor words can't describe it for me.

The tempura green beans were a miss. At $8.50 it was overpricedand flavorless. They were lightly covered with the batter and soaked in oil. They did provide a nice dipping sauce but I would still pass on them. needsSadly it some work, especially if the Habbit burger does it better for a 3rd of the price. The other thing that kind bothered me was charging $2 for a single youcan meanof soda. I feel that price would be okay if it was a fountain drinkbut it's just a can and they didn't even provide a cup with ice.

Overall we left with a great feeling of satisfaction and a new enjoyment for ramen. I would highly recommend checking...

Do not go here—especially if you have a disability or rely on a service dog. I had an awful experience, and it sent my stress and anxiety levels through the roof. The manager clearly disliked animals and completely ignored the law regarding service dogs.

When I arrived with my service dog, he demanded to see a “certificate.” I explained that legitimate service dogs don’t have or need certificates—federal law only allows businesses to ask what tasks the dog performs. He then said my dog “doesn’t look like a service dog,” and when I tried to clarify, he began yelling and claiming he was a “specialist” who trains service dogs. Not only was that false and unprofessional—it’s illegal to impersonate a professional in that field.

It was one of the most hostile, humiliating experiences I’ve ever had in hospitality. The manager’s behavior was discriminatory, aggressive, and unacceptable. I left feeling shaken, anxious, and deeply...
