We came in for a late lunch and it turned out to be one of the best meals we have had in a long time. From the moment we walked in, the chef who also owns the place greeted us with such warmth that it felt less like a restaurant and more like stepping into someone’s home. She told us she makes the pasta by hand and you can taste that care in every single bite.

The pasta itself was perfectly textured, soft yet firm, the kind of bite that only fresh pasta delivers. It held the sauce like it was made for it, a velvety and rich blend of flavors that was bold but never overwhelming. Every forkful felt like a little event and by the halfway point I had to slow down, not because it was not good, but because it was so decadent I wanted to savor it. The plate was so filling that I could barely finish it, and I loved that.

I have been to Italy and tasted pasta in places famous for it, yet this felt like an even better version of what I had there. The flavors were more vibrant, the texture more satisfying, and the overall experience more memorable.

The best part was not just the food. The experience was wrapped in genuine kindness from the chef, whose pride and love for what she does shows in every detail. That personal touch made the whole lunch unforgettable.

Found this spot after doing my standard “food” Google search when I’m not quite sure what I want to eat. Lucy’s caught my eye and was close to where I was so decided to give it a try.

Walking in shortly before 9pm, the atmosphere was cozy and very clean. I was warmly greeted by the owner and chef, Isabella. She was kind and patient, providing me with a menu and having me take a seat while I looked over everything. I could immediately tell she valued the comfort of her customers.

I decided on a meat lovers calzone and chose to dine in so I could try it while hot and fresh out the oven. There is a fridge stocked with an assortment of beverages to choose from. I grabbed a Mexican Coke and had a seat.

The food was out fairly quickly and I was shocked at how big it was. Definitely a good price for the size. Isabella asked if I needed any dressings or anything. I let her know I was all good before digging in. The dough of a calzone can be tricky for some but with the first bite I knew it was going to be amazing. The outside was flaky and had a good texture, the inside soft and hot. Overall there was a good balance of dough, sauce, meats, and cheese and the flavor of everything was amazing. I was only able to be half before requesting a box for the leftovers.

Before heading out, I was able to have a quick conversation with Isabella. I could tell how passionate she was about her business and her cooking, and especially how her customers felt from the moment they walked in to the moment they left. Last Thursday it was poker night at my place and man were we having fun but then when we realized we were hungry. We checked the time and it was past 2 in the morning. I searched on Google to see if any joints were open I'm Glendale because I really did not want some 7-11 hot dogs. The only place open late after midnight was Lucy's unfortunately for me it closed at two and the time was about 10 minutes past two. However, I decided to give them a call and see if they can do me a favor. Luckily Victor the guy I talked to, said that he will help me out and take a order for pick up since it was passed two. I told him that we were a bit under the influence and that we had to Uber it to the restaurant and that it might take some time. Victor insisted that we stay home and that he will deliver the pizzas himself so we can be safe. Within 40 minutes all the 5 large pizzas that I ordered were at my house.
