This review is for a situation that happened on Thursday, September 29th. I had placed an order online for a pepperoni calzone and when the order was picked up and I arrived home, I noticed that yes there was pepperoni but also huge chunks of onion as well as sausage. I had to double check my receipt just to make sure that I didn't have butter fingers and hit the wrong button for toppings; I didn't. I called the restaurant around 7:30 and told them the situation and the employee offered to have the restaurant remake it for me with no issue. I genuinely have no issue with this; however, by the time I would have made it to the restaurant they would have been closed and I wasn't going to have them stay open just for a calzone. I asked the employee what my other solutions were and she had me talk to the manager, Jeff.
I explained the situation to Jeff and made him aware that I would not be able to make it over to NYPD in time and he offered to refund me for my calzone and he still credited me for the same calzone, telling me that I would just need to call in my order so they know I'm in the system.
This review is NOT a complaint at all. I wanted to write this to let the public and hopefully NYPD higher ups aware that I am extremely appreciative of how this situation was handled. I've always enjoyed NYPD and now my love for this delicious pizza establishment has solidified....
Read moreExcellent pizza and service (as usual) at this location. My wife and I shared the "Da Works" pizza and the large House salad -- they were both delicious!
Upon ordering our pizza, our server, Denitsa, asked if we liked the pizza crispy, since she said the many vegetable toppings could make the pizza a little soggy -- she said to keep the pizza crispy, they can cook the pizza a little longer to prevent that sogginess. We opted to do so, and the pie indeed was perfectly crispy, as promised. If you do get a salad to accompany your pie, I highly recommend the Chelsea dressing, which is a mixture of their House (vinaigrette-type) and ranch dressings. It was tasty and savory without being too acidic, like many other vinegar-based dressings. The Limoncello cake, a lemony sponge cake with a creamy icing, made for a light, yet decadent, finish to our meal.
Denitsa was a fantastic, attentive server who guided our dining experience, always ready with our drink refills, information on their menu options, extra dressing when requested, and even a to-go drink cup at the end of our visit.
Try the NYPD Pizza on 77th Ave and Bell Road in Glendale -- you won't be...
Read moreEdited to increase rating - we originally rated lower based on our experience listed below, because we wanted the wonderful owners to know what was happening. This place is absolutely 5/5 other than the actions of one staff member, and we can’t wait to return!
————————— We went here on June 1st for dinner and had an amazing experience, our waiter (Joe) was fantastic. The CEO was present for that meal and she was also incredible, taking the time to talk with each table and guest.
We returned today (June 2nd) for lunch based off our wonderful experience last night and were met with a very different experience. The waiter (Isaiah) was immediately very curt, rude, made it very clear that he didn’t care about his job in every mannerism, and the final straw was when he literally threw the kids menu on the table at my seven year old (seemingly annoyed that we requested a kids menu, he had given her an adult one before).
We got up and left before even ordering, we’re very disappointed at the difference in service when the CEO is present versus when she is not. Our June 1st experience had been the highlight of our trip here, and now we...
