We have been loyal customers of Scandinavian & Dania for over 30 years. Most of the furniture in our house is from this brand. We purchased the Angelo Leather Sectional back in May 2023 from the Scandinavian store in Glendale, Arizona. We chose a custom leather and configuration which cost us $8680 and would take approximately 6 months to receive the couch. The couch was delivered in October 2023 with many defects including large spaces on the back of the recliner seats (which are exposed to our kitchen due to the L shape) the pieces didn’t line up, the leather on the footrests was buckled, and defective mechanisms in the recliners that click, pop and squeal loudly when in use. (I attempted to upload a video here of the loud noises when the recliner is in use, but to no success.) A repair person was sent to our house and determined he could not repair the couch so it was agreed, Scandinavian would re-order a new couch, admitting others were having similar problems. The new couch was ordered in November 2023 and was delivered April 2024. While the new couch was aesthetically better, it had the same defective mechanisms in the recliners. It was determined new parts would be ordered from overseas but would take months to arrive. From that point on, Scandavian basically ghosted us. We never heard back from the manager after numerous phone calls, emails and drop-ins at the store. We were told each time by an employee of the store that the parts had been ordered but still not received at their warehouse. Fast forward to March 2025, we heard from Jason who identified himself as the new manager. He apologized for the situation we’ve endured for almost 2 years and no resolution to the defective couch(es), and thanked us for our respectful patience. He told us to come in to choose a new model as a replacement. He explained that no one was able to locate the parts to repair the couch and clearly the previous manager completely dropped the ball. We came in and chose a different couch (model) and Jason would work on getting approval. Possibly a week later we were told the new model we chose would not be possible due to the price being much too expensive even though Jason had been on board with our choice. We then heard from another person named Marc, who identified himself as the manager. He told us in order to have our new choice approved we would have to downgrade the leather to grade one (from the grade 3 leather we chose) and would still have to pay over $1000 for this new couch. We let them know the days we could come in to choose the downgraded leather but neither Jason or Marc were there when we showed up. There was a very limited color choice in grade one, and none that worked for us. We emailed them that day March 28, 2025, to let them know the situation, that we could not find a color that worked for us. To date, we have not heard back. Ghosted again. We have suffered with an $8680 defective couch for almost 2 years, lack of customer service and lack of resolution. We have been very respectful and beyond patient while waiting for Scandinavian to resolve this issue and to date still remains unresolved. Safe to say, Scandinavian has lost a very...
Read moreThe second I walked in I knew I’d found my place for furniture. I came looking for a dining room table and found so much more, I came in on a whim after so many failed attempts at other furniture stores around the valley. I was greeted instantly by multiple people, all with a smile and all were so welcoming. I explained what I was looking for and janet explained to me how their store is set up and what to expect. I loved that they set it by style/design and do not just group tables and such separate. It was so much easier to picture everything in my space because they grouped things together to make a livable space visual. I was quickly drawn to four different tables and it made it so hard to choose from. Ive been looking for a sold wood, sturdy and durable table for what feels like forever and they had so many. I finally felt like I found what I was starting to feel was unattainable in this day and age. Prices were higher than other stores, but only because it was definitely way better quality and worth it. The decision was so hard and we were in the store for well over an hour mixing and matching chairs and going between different tables trying to decide on our perfect table. We got sidetracked a few times by the beautiful couches and chairs. I know where I’ll be in the future. Our salesperson was so amazing through the entire experience and answered all questions we had. Even offering up extra info such as a table we were looking at had a larger version and how some of the tables worked with different leaflets etc. once we finally decided and purchased we were shown available delivery days and chose. We were told we had 14 days to love it or return it with a 10% restock fee. If there were blemishes or damage at delivery we were also advised to let them know and to keep the furniture until the new one arrived so we weren’t without . We were also offered water as we shopped and I loved that. The store was so beautiful and very clean. Again, I felt as if I was in my own home the way they brought the style to each design instead of grouping the same pieces all together. Rather it be more modern, contemporary or rustic they had it all. I loved the colors and pairing of items. There was also a good selection of wall art, lighting options and even mattresses for purchase. I think for the first time in the history of living on my own I felt 100 percent secure with my decision. I am so excited to see this table in my home. If you’re looking for well made, long lasting and beautiful furniture this...
Read moreTerrible quality of products. Service was not helpful at all either. I have a sectional and the back cushions are deformed from “use”. I have never sat on a couch that was so out of shape. I tried re-fluffing several times, however, no avail. I brought the cushions in after speaking to them on the phone and received common sense advice of re-fluffing that could have been given to me on the phone and I already did that several times. I was just disappointed of the quality but more importantly of the service.
Reply to owner: Thank you for your reply. I am in total understanding of warranty time expiring. Regarding the warranty being "transferred" is problematic. The warranty should be on the quality of the product, not the hands receiving the product. For example, Hyundai has a warranty up to 10 years or 100k miles (whichever comes first) regardless of who's the first owner. I have first hand experience. Even though this is much more valuable and expensive than furniture, they warranty their products regardless of owner. You should be ensuring the quality of your products. Warranty time is understandable. I also think the service should have been better, I called beforehand and was told to bring the cushions, which was not convenient at all. I brought them to hear to go home and fluff. From an honest perspective, I will never purchase anything from the store and also encourage others to do the same due to quality of products...
