Went to Pita jungle arrowhead location last Saturday with my family. We received an add online for a BOGO coupon and we were excited to enjoy some shawarma wraps. To begin our meal we ordered a large hummus appetizer which was good, however the bread offered to us seemed old because pita is meant to split in half, and this bread did not break open what so ever. This was the beginning of an overall terrible experience. We then ordered the Mediterranean Roasted Chicken (Shawarma). One would expect a chicken shawarma wrap to be hot and full of flavor. Sadly this chicken shawarma was very cold and tasteless. We asked our waitress if the chicken was supposed to be cold and her answer was "well the chicken is grilled fresh and the cold sauce and cold vegetables make the sandwich cold" This was disappointing and a blatant lie because no food that is allegedly grilled "fresh" could make it to the table ice cold. The chicken was spongy, had no taste, and so cold it seemed like they pulled it out of a cooler that they use for a cold chicken salad. We had to drown the shawarma in the "tahini" sauce to be edible. I understand that costs have increased but I would rather watch grass grow than pay $10 for a Cold and tasteless shawarma. In addition, the "garlic sauce" had no taste of garlic what so ever it tasted like a poorly prepped mashed potatoes. Finally, the waitress began to get annoyed and displaying a negative attitude towards us and threw our bill on the table. We had split checks and asked her to charge it to one credit card which we thought would make her job a little easier but instead we received a rude/sarcastic "ok" and an eye roll that made me dizzy. Legend has it her eyes are still rolling. I wish there was a decent point during this trip to Pita Jungle but I regret to say I couldn't find one. I personally hate leaving reviews online but this was such a blatant disrespect to us and such a horrible dining experience I had to. I understand now why management has had to change so many times over the years but wow. Some training on how to deliver food to the customer and to just be nice could really be used at this location. Needless to say, but my family and I will never be returning to Pita Jungle. However, if you have a lot of money and are interested in wasting $100 (we are a family of 5) to feed your family ice cold and tasteless shawarmas...
Read moreI ordered a gluten free pizza from the waiter. Another staff member brought me my pizza. It was thin crusted and appeared different looking like other gluten free pizza I had eaten in the past so I didn’t think any thing of it. After I had about 3 small slices. My waiter came over and told me it was the wrong pizza and it wasn’t gluten free. He said he would take off my drink and I said I wasn’t paying for any of it. He said ok just take it (meaning the gluten free pizza that I ordered.)
I don’t want anyone to get in trouble but I do have a few suggestions.
I personally am not a huge fan of this place, as the food and frankly the atmosphere is not my cup of tea. However, literally EVERYONE I know, loves this place. Not that I know a ton of folks, but with math like that I am for sure in the minority here.
As for the places itself, here are my thoughts. The place is set up nice in an open room, with views into the kitchen and bar. There is also an outside seating area for the times of year when it's nice out. The tables are set up with both tables in the middle of the room as well as rows of booth seating and chairs opposite them, similar to cheesecake factory setup. Some folks don't like that, so just an fyi.
Like I said before, the food is not something I typically e joy, but I will say that when I am drug here by other people, I do enjoy the Cilantro Like Hummus with the chicken. They don't have regular tea and if you are expecting that, you will be disappointed. The tea is a fruity passion fruit version and they don't always inform you when you ask for iced tea. That is the reason for four stars and not five.
I have on several occasions asked why they don't get regular black tea and each and every time I'm told, "You know, we get asked that all the time." Why not make a small change if one is asked constantly for the small change?
Overall, I would not choose to go here, but that is not because the food is bad or the tea. I am just not into this kind of food. If your friends or family want to go here and you're the odd one out, it is not a bad place to...
