I'm 9 months pregnant and was craving one of their desserts. Been here in the past and I knew it's "first come, first served" so I've seen an empty table and sat down while my mom went to notify the hostess. When she approached the hostess and told her I'm pregnant and I sat down, the hostess Sofia replied with "this is a wine bar. Why is she drinking if she is pregnant?" To which my mom replied "we only want coffee and desserts" and came to the table upset with the hostess attitude. Shortly after, the waitress Alyssa shows up to whom we order a sparkling water, 2 cappuccinos and one dessert. She then proceeds to tell me in order to have dessert, we need to get dinner . I asked to talk with a manager because I've been there before and this was never an issue . The hostess comes (same from earlier) and has the audacity to tell me , quote " I already explain to her (my mom) that we don't serve hot drinks. Only alcohol! " while 2 tables down I could see cups of hot drinks that 2 girls were enjoying. I pointed out that table and since she couldn't explain why I'm being refused a hot drink she said she'll send me a manager. When the manager Luis came, he had no excuse for what I've experienced but have tried somehow to defend his staff by saying that sometimes if it's very busy the outside "bar", they would offer a table inside the restaurant. Well, so I was never offered a table inside, I've been told why I'm there if I'm pregnant, can't order because I need to order dinner, can't order hot drink but only alcohol and ultimately the manager apologized couple of times . So many excuses in only probably 10minutes .
I have not experienced any type of discrimination such as this during my whole pregnancy. In fact, all employees from all the businesses I visited were always super nice and helpful if needed. It was very humiliating! The table next to us that heard the conversation with the server and the hostess, have offered to order coffee and desserts for us and pass it to our table. Can you imagine...
Read moreAfter reviewing the reviews for this place, we've decided to stop here to have some late lunch before our movie at the AMC theater. The hostess was polite and greeted us as we entered to be seated. This was the last of the customer service. After we ordered our food, it wasn't too long after that our food arrived. The waiter never came by, never asked how we were doing, didn't refill our drinks, nothing, no interaction from the host is whatsoever. The place was empty so honestly, don't know what she was doing that she couldn't come by just to check in on how things were going. The food was not great at all. I believe I tried the mushroom and crumbled sausage cream rigatoni which was disgusting. The food was mushy, extremely hot, which meant that it was either microwaved or broiled and it was not fresh or well balanced. This was not Italian food at all (compared to the Olive garden experience). The rice balls were decent and the vegetable soup was also decent. Overall, a very negative experience at this particular restaurant at the Americana. I would give it a negative one star but at least our food came out timely and my wife enjoyed her meal somewhat as the sauce on her spaghetti was mushy as well. For those deciding to...
Read moreI appreciated not having to wait too long to be seated, but we were placed next to another occupied table, making it difficult to pull out the third chair. I asked to move, and the hostess was accommodating in relocating us, although it seemed a bit puzzling that we had to wait before being seated at a table that was initially available.
Regarding the service, the waitstaff could have been more attentive. They came straight to us asking if we were ready to order without first offering us drink options, which was unexpected. It would have been nice if they had checked in on us after we received our food, as we didn't feel attended to at all. Additionally, we would have appreciated a heads-up about a change in our waitress, as it would have helped manage our expectations. But then again, the waitstaff was attentive to everyone else except us.
The ciopinno was salty and my parent's pasta was ok. Apparently they don't have fennel sausage eventhough it's on the menu. I wouldn't recommend this...
