My husband and I are no strangers to Cheesecake Factory, we have chosen it at different times, usually in connection with events we attend. This visit was no different - we attended ballet at Alex Theatre.
We were quite pleased that we made a reservation instead of walk in. When we arrived we overheard hostess say it was 90 minute wait. We were seated quickly after checking in. By time we left, the waiting area was full.
I think we arrived very close to shift change. We ended up with 3 different servers, each was polite, accommodating and did well considering how busy it was on Saturday night during Christmas season. There were delays getting our appetizer and dinner but the food was not cold.
We tried an asparagus appetizer from a "special menu'. It was described as lightly breaded but it was not. The asparagus tasted fresh and had good texture but the batter and other seasoning was not evident. Not sure we will try it again.
We chose simple dinner - chicken and avocado sandwich. The chicken was tender cooked just right and had wonderful flavor. It was quite filling.
I am not sure how to comment on my preferred champagne not being available. I recently had this experience at Thanksgiving at another restaurant. It's disappointing and irritating. Mark the menu or make notes on website. Our first server admitted that she didn't drink and offered 9 ounce pour as an alternative. This had never been an option before but I thought okay fine. She returned saying 9 ounce pour not available, so I asked if they could open bottle (this one is sold as split and full bottle) but of course, they were unwilling to accommodate. I will not lie - it infuriated me because my other choices were NOT vineyards I enjoyed. I felt like I was being forced to spend twice as much for bottle I knew I would not finish at dinner. (And they don't offer cork for take away).
My conclusion with this experience and recent experience elsewhere with shortages is that if I want to drink a specific champagne is ask what the corkage fee is and take the bottle with - even if my usual choice is on the menu. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect that items always on the menu be available at all times. In this circumstance it was early dinner --
I do realize that this is Cheesecake Factory not usual places I dine for special occasions. Cheesecake was fabulous - we had to order to go and it was our breakfast! Regarding other elements of our experience they were satisfactory. Next time I choose this location I am calling ahead...
Read moreThis place used to be good years ago. I went there recently with the old memories and it was a shame. I felt so stupid by taking my friend out for her bday thinking we have a good time. At first I asked the front desk for a table outside for 6 people she said it’s impossible and we agreed inside which was so crowded and noisy. Then I realize it’s only 5 of us and went back and told her. She started telling me that if they go out and see us 6 people they will get fined bla bla … I kept repeating myself that it’s only 5 of us and she was hesitant thinking I’m some kind of lier playing games. Disrespectful. Anyways we got the table outside. Ordered the food after 45 minutes 2 of the food came. One for the kid (2 kids) and one for adult. Other 3 sitting and waiting. My kids started getting annoyed and cried because one has the food the one doesn’t. I was really mad. Went to talk to server. After 15 min rest of the food started coming. Kids meatball spaghetti…wth was that. One huge ball of nasty meat thrown over the spagetti. My son was furious. Didn’t eat the food. The other meatball sousage supposedly was just 3 big meatballs extra spicy not possible to eat. I complained again they said I see you liked it may be you eat it. It was NOT my order plus I didn’t even touch that food. I tried my sons meatball to make sure it’s not spicy either. But kids ended up NoT eating either one of their foods and misbehaving because they were already being treated bad. Other 2 spaghettis had no taste. How bad can you cook to f/up the spaghetti. Oh and after our several complains we asked to bring something else to replace the spicy food. It came after the kitchen was closed and all the guests left. We were only ones sitting there waiting for a food. Really ???? Then I went inside asked for a piece of cake to sing happy birthday to my friend. Everything is closed. I got mad so bad I said I don’t care figure something out. It was all your freaking fault. Poor waiter went to the kitchen grabbed some random rainbow nasty cake wrote happy birthday on the plate and brought it. It was nice he tried to fix the situation that I guess he wasn’t even responsible. We asked for a candle they brought one and we couldn’t find a lighter. Started asking random walking people and found one from one of the busboys who was already cleaning the floors while we were there. Anyways I was so embarrassed and the bill was ridiculous. This was the...
Read moreHorrible, service, extremely unfriendly, and I really would say “racist” when they hear your “Accent”!!The guy at the desk , blue eyes, dark hair , looking like just woke up, totally disinterested at the task and “zero”kindness, after my check -in since I have sciatica problems I asked him if I could sit while waiting, he replied with contempt telling me that someone would arrive! I sat on a table outside, there were maybe two tables occupied, I was right in front of the entrance. I waited about 10 minutes then I came back and there were 5 waiters laughing and talking to the desk guy that I had spoken to before... when I asked if I had to wait long, he looked at me with an air of condescension and contempt and told me that they don't come looking for me and if I wanted to be served I had to stand in front of him, to which I replied that I couldn't stand for long due to my back pain and that they could well see me where I was and that it was an arrogant way of speaking to the clients! He looked at me and said: Do you still want to have the table? if you do , you must stay here and someone will help you, he was rude and arrogant, so I asked him to call me the manager, he smiled as if to say, .. ahahahaha nothing will change you deluded fool!-He came back with a woman, tall , it seems like red hair tied in a ponytail, while they were walking towards me I saw that he was talking to her, he definitely gave her his version! when she got close to me, I greeted her, she barely responded and her manner was super hostile, not a smile, we were alone and I told her, turning around and pointing to the person with whom I had had problems, "I would like to make a complaint about this person" and she replied to me verbatim: Put your hand down and don't point at the people ! and I reply: "How's your excuse?" and she: Yes, don't point at people with your hand because it's a sign of great rudeness" now I'm not going any further, that's enough for me!!!! I would just like to add this: Your food isn't even that great, the cutlery is always dirty, and the glasses stink, The only reason I like this place is because I can see the water games in the fountain, but you are a little ashamed 'how do you behave? you are scandalous and shameful, unprofessional and rude, they MUST train you how to learn being a good human being!!!! Terrible experience!!!👎👎👎👎 This happened Monday...
