The products are good, but I worry that the poor staff is overworked, undertrained, and generally stressed. And hiding it all behind a customer service smile. I live/work nearby and walk past the store a lot. Ive gone in a couple of times since it opened too. The gelato is super tasty and the chocolate is so good. A bit overpriced tho. They seem to be understaffed for how big their lines are, and many dont seem confident scooping the ice cream. And it looks hard to do! And every time I walk by, the person giving chocolate samples looks like theyve been running around a lot. And I swaer one time the scoopers were sweating over that freezer! They all seem to be very nice and trying their best, so I dont blame the people on the floor at all. The company also seems to hire really young. Almost everyone in there looks like early 20s at most! Definitely a good amount of teenagers! I'd keep buying from them if I wasnt worried the staff were getting taken advantage of. Or if it seemed like they had more older experienced service staff supporting them. Maybe they should have spent more time hiring and training before they opened the store, since its so new. Its a very cute shop, but someone needs to look into this store and make sure the workers feel set up for sucsess.I hope me commenting my observations can make it easier on them, and the company doesnt just push them to look happier on the job. I was a young retail worker once, and spent a long time as a waitress. Ive had my fair share of stressful jobs, so Ive come to know what this looks like. I hope that businesses nowadays focus more on giving their staff a good environment. I wonder if other customers notice too, or if theyre just distracted...
Read moreUnbelievably rude and arrogant employee serving ice cream. My son and I were so excited to try Venchi. We love gelato! After waiting in line for several minutes we approached the counter to look at the different flavors. An employee said she could help the next person in line. My son and I moved toward her. Then out of nowhere a snotty employee said the people behind us were next and that we were cutting the line. I explained that we had been waiting and next in line. She had the audacity to double down on her accusation. She was so stuck up and rude about it. So we left. Venchi is known for its quality, but they unfortunately hired a snob who needs serious etiquette and customer service training. This employee did not demonstrate the excellence the brand is trying to achieve in its products and merchandising. First impressions are everything and I will never go to this...
Read moreWhere do I start! My 2 girl friends & I were beyond thrilled to find out a Venchi was opening in Glendale as we are huge fans from our visits to Italy every time! We had our first experience at this location tonight and there were 3 of the most lovely employees that helped us out by the names Alice, Alyssa & Peach. These girls really made this experience just as tasty & fun as their chocolates & gelato!!! They were all very informative & had extensive product knowledge and walked us through an array of sweet & flavors that tickled our taste buds & our minds! All along the way they made all of us feel that genuine Italian charm regardless of this being a US location. Can’t wait to go back & see them and stock up on their artisanal sweets!...
