I don't like giving bad reviews ever but I'm going to tell you my experience and you can take from it what you will. I took my girlfriend there for Valentine's Day. We walked in and there was a male and female host and they informed us that they were closing in 45 minutes and that they were not going to offer us a table even though I could see at least three two-person tables that were empty. They did not mention that we could sit at the bar, but we asked and they said that we could check. That alone seems kind of weird since there were two person tables available. Neither of them offered to walk us to the bar but we walked over and found two empty seats. There were dishes in front of both seats. The female bartender completely ignored us the entire time. The male ignored us for about 5 minutes and then cleaned away the dishes and did a poor job of wiping off the bar. We were not offered menus but I found two menus to my left sitting on the bar. We looked at the menus and quickly figured out what we wanted. The male bartender/bar back said he could put in our food order but he could not make my girlfriends rum and coke, I had a coke. I don't remember who actually made the drinks but they eventually came. We ordered lobster spaghetti and chicken parmesan and a salad that we shared and also a dessert. The total came to about $160. The food came pretty quick and it was piping hot and delicious. The chicken parmesan was cooked perfectly and the vegetables were delicious and the lobster was good and so was the spaghetti. The desert was also amazing. So my only complaint is the fact that we were stonewalled at the front door and then completely ignored at the bar. The male bartender or barback was actually very friendly at the end and was telling us what he enjoyed to order on the menu. If I was the manager of this restaurant I would be very concerned. I would hope that two very well dressed people on Valentine's Day would be treated much better, especially since this restaurant's prices represent being much better than an average restaurant. The restaurant was probably very busy all night and certainly made a lot of money. So maybe the employees thought that two more people spending money was just not important. I have worked in the service industry and let me tell you it has never crossed my mind that I made too much money. You can feel free to contact me if you would like any more...
Read moreWe had some friends coming from out of town today and we wanted to take them out for lunch to a nice Italian restaurant. We have been to this place several times before and we thought it would be a great choice. Unfortunately, it was an awful experience this time. After about waiting for 40 minutes for a table (very reasonably), we ordered a Carpaccio as a starter to share, and 2 salads and 2 pizza’s as main course along with a bottle of Wine. In about 15 minutes, we received our salads which were all delicious. We started to wait for the rest of our meals. At about 30minutes after the salads came, we asked the waiter if he can check our pizzas. He went to the kitchen and came back, saying they’ll be here in about 10 minutes. After waiting for another 10 minutes he came and said they’ll be out in 2 minutes. You know what happened after that! After 45 minutes since our salads came, waiter came to the table apologizing and telling us that he forgot to put the pizza order into the system and asking if we still want the pizzas? He said they can make it in 15 minutes if we still want them. I asked him that he told us he had checked the kitchen 2 times and confirmed that they’ll be here in 10 minutes. He just apologized with no explanation. He obviously lied to us. Normally I would leave that place but since we were hungry and we had guests we said okay to wait. Pizzas arrived in 15 minutes which was about 1hour 10 minutes after we sat down. They were delicious, no complaints about that. But wait a minute, We have had ordered the Carpaccio as the starter, right? Never mind, we have never received it. In this kind of a situation, in a nice restaurant like this, you would expect some kind of a gesture or a complementary desert or coffee or at least a discount on the check just to show a courtesy and as a sign of an apology, right?. (to say “We messed up but we’re sorry”). When we asked for the check, we were served the full price with nothing complementary. I’m usually very sensitive about tipping and try to give a nice tip when we go out for a nice dinner. Today was the first time in my life that I’ve tipped $0. I hope they will get...
Read moreDue to health issues, I have become unable to leave my home. But I loved the food at Trattoria Amici, so I deicided to see if they had any online options. I was able to find them on postmates, with the strange drawback that it seemed they only did scheduled orders only for the next day, not the day of the order. I was alright with it, so I decided to input an order for the next day, both a win for food choice and so I wouldn't have to worry about making dinner with the health issues bothering me. The next day arrives, and barely 30 minutes before the food is scheduled to arrive, I recieved a notification that my order has been canceld with no other explantion. I'm frustrated, but I decide to give the restaurant a call to at least get an explanation. I was put on hold for over 30 minutes. No one picked up in the end. I have moved on to pure anger. This food wasn't meant only for me, it was meant to be the dinner for my entire family. And now, I even look on the postmates website for my order, and I see that Trattoria Amici is "closed" for orders. Look, if you don't want offer a delivery service, ok, fine, that's the restaurant's choice, BUT DON'T PUT IT ON DELIVERY WEBSITES AND ALLOW PEOPLE TO ORDER ON IT ONLY TO CANCEL IT. THIS IS FOOD WE'RE TALKING ABOUT, NOT AN ARTS AND CRAFTS PROJECT. WHEN PEOPLE THINK THEY HAVE FOOD COVERED, THEY AREN'T GOING TO MAKE A SECOND DINNER. IT'S NOT JUST POSTMATES, I FOUND THEM ON DOORDASH TOO. For those wondering: I contacted postmates as well, but all they could offer was the guarentee of a refund. Nothing about the actual situation was explained. It's just baffling and...
