!!! (If you purchase a Groupon, read this) !!!
Low rating is for the horrible service, food was good and nice atmosphere
Waiter didn’t know menu-order a 32oz matcha tea & she didn’t know there were three sizes- came back & asked twice to confirm blended or iced after my wife stated ice the first time..
Speaking of menu, the menu in person has way more items than the menu you can find online..why the variation as this could be a deterrent for potential customers
My son ordered Alfredo, 10mins after waiting she stated they were out..this was 5pm-start of dinner..doubt people ordering fettuccini alfredo for lunch in abundance were they sell out.
At this time, still no silverware, no waters that we ordered and no matcha tea after like 10 additional mins go by. New table that sat down by us got waters before us after we had already put orders in-even owner/manager asked us if we have been waited on.
Service was slow..sons new order of Greek fries came out…20mins go by, 1 pizza that we ordered still hasn’t came out, waiter still hasn’t checked on us or gave us a food update until shortly afterwards.
Besides service, pizza was good-no lie had pesto, pepperoni, slices of gyro meat, white cheese etc..dough on pizza was really good as well. Dessert was good as well-had Greek doughnuts with ice cream.
Groupon debacle when check came, wife presented $40 Groupon. Waiter said new policy that it could only be used if check was $80 or more..
Dafq?!? straight billsh**t (pun intended) as the Groupon, special instructions or fine print said nothing of the sort! We pulled up the Groupon rules and advised her-showed her..she said it’s the restaurants policy..again, straight billshit (pun intended again) -if you want to make stipulations then you put that in agreement with Groupon!!
Then the waiter bih’ had the nerve to say “we can’t give you free food” because the bill came up to $55 and Groupon was for &40…free food bih’ ?!? I had to pay for the Groupon initially dummy smh. I told her to bring the manager out..he never came out but waiter came back and said he will make an exception but next time those are the rules..smh needless to say I didn’t leave her a* a tip for the trash a* experience, service and that smart a** comment she made altho I would of tipped off original amount anyways, not the Groupon discounted price!
Horrible service and customer service since they remodeled..I miss the waiter who served us in the past with a real live snake around her...
Read moreThe hubbs and I were in Westgate doing some Christmas shopping and had a craving for Gyros. Opa Life Greek Cafe was nearby, so we decided to give it a try. Pros: Great trendy and industrial-like atmosphere. Very modern inside. The garage doors are open during business hours and they have an expensive patio area with a fire pit. The menu is huge, and includes wraps, burgers, pizza and traditional Greek fair. They also have beer on tap and a full bar. You order at the counter and they bring you your food (Very quickly I might add). My husband and I both ordered a Gyro. He got a side of fries and I got a side Greek salad. The portions are the perfect size. We were able to finish our meals, without any leftovers. The Gyro was pretty big, and packed with meat, lettuce red onion and diced tomatoes. They also give you a side of tzaziki sauce that is pretty tasty, although slightly bland if you are used to a more garlicy sauce. The fries were coded with a seasoning and were very crunchy. The side salad had lettuce green pepper, red onion, cucumber, tomato, feta and a creamy Greek salad dressing. Service was friendly, and we were checked on once during our lunch to see if we needed anything else. Cons: You order at the counter, and there are no prices on the menu. Our lunch was $35 with tip, which included two Gyro sandwiches and sides, and one beer on tap. Not out of the ordinary pricewise, but I like to know what my meals cost when I’m ordering. The Gyro meat, although ample, was very wet and did not have any of the typical Greek flavor that we are used to. It didn’t taste like it had any seasoning on it. at all. Tasty-but not traditional. All in all, it was a pleasant experience but it left me still craving a more traditional flavored Gryo. Looks like I will have to make the trip up to anthem to...
Read moreI have been to Westgate a hundred times and have walked by Opa Life just as many. Now I’m kicking myself for not having tried it till now. Besides how great the atmosphere is at Westgate itself, Opa’s sits right in the middle of the action where one can sit after a meal with a cup of coffee and listen to the live music by the fountain.
As for the food, everything tasted fresh and the portions very generous. my daughter got a simple pepperoni pizza that was far from average. The crust was tender, the sauce was unique and sort of sweet with fresh tomatoes and cheese. But it was my pita meal that will bring me back.
I got the Philly Pita which is not exactly authentic Greek, but had my favorite ingredients in the form of grilled peppers, onion, and mushrooms and lined with a delicious sauce I can neither spell nor pronounce so you know it’s good! The pita was soft and not stale like so many Greek places tend to be and the fries were topped with parmesan cheese and another sauce that made ketchup pointless and downright insulting! The meat, a selection of sliced chicken and lamb, was moist and cooked tender. The portion had me filled all night and into the next morning.
At the end of the day, this might be my favorite place to eat at all of Westgate and will now be a staple when I visit. They have a full coffee and bar on top of their counter service, though to be fair, I didn’t try anything from those menus. The service was friendly and efficient and the location and food were hard to beat anywhere at Westgate or at the Tanger Outlets. Matter of fact, just reading my review I have to change my review from 4 stars to 5 just because I found NOTHING wrong with my experience! See...
