Black people. Arizona is one of those places where they will mess with black people's food. When you check the reviews you have to filter by clicking on newest or they will only show the best reviews first. You hit newest and it will sort the post accurately and you will start to see other black people with similar post like mine... you have to be that careful...I went here last night because its in my neighborhood. The first time I came here the white and some of the black female staff acted awful even though I said nothing to them. I dont look bad. I wear gucci, nice watches from tourneau and I'm a handsome man. I'm just black. Some of the servers will walk by and stare at me wide eyed as if I dont belong there. Lol. It's funny because none of them can afford to live in westgate like I can probably. It's actually my neighborhood. I got sick everytime I chose to get food from here. To make sure it was the restuarant, I didnt eat anything else. I asked one of the female servers for another processeco because she was using the register right in front of me and she thought it was pertinent to tell me that she was entering another order instead of just saying ok in a few minutes. She had a bad attitude and a few seconds later you could see her yelling as if someone had done something to her to the point that a male server said you're awesome sarcastically. I has shrimp tacos. They tasted bad. I got sick again and if I stay sick I will be taking further action along with showing up tomorrow and puking on the bar. I tipped the make server sean well and the female guest sitting next to me saw and was appalled that was even happening. She even gave me her number just in case. I regret coming here and its ashame that black people share that crab in a barrel mentality. I dont recommend coming here for black out of towners. There are many racist Mexicans and white people being downtrodden by the economic situation here. Even though that's not your fault, they will take it out on you through racism. Real rich people dont behave this way. Poor people cant take pride in their work and feel as if everyone owes them something. I was a server in college. All I did was make great money. People just threw it at me for being nice and humble. Maybe they should try that...zero out of 10. Dont let the building aesthetics fool you...I posted a photo so you get the idea of me cleaning up my puke. Second time I went through this and their arent any coincidences. Its a pathetic environment. The people here are disgusting and I can only imagine what their personal lives are really like. Welcome to arizona. The point is that a place or establishment with true class will simply ask you to leave...they wont poison you...but the intent was to inflict the inferiority and misery they are feeling...thats evil and weak minded...that's how violence happens...look at this country....this is where and...
Read moreI don't know how to start this review, because I am out of words - which is highly unusual for me. Yard House is a place where I have been before a few times and I did enjoy it a lot. It has amazing architecture, European flair, and an outside - very European-like- sitting area. This time it was an extreme disappointment to the point that I decided not to go there anymore. We wanted to sit outside and there was a few tables open, but the girl who was sitting the guests stated " that's the only table you can sit at " when we tried to point out where we want to sit ( the other tables remain open until we left ). It was FRI Nov 25 at 0300 pm.
After exactly 23 minutes of waiting, we got our drinks. Minutes later we could order food. It was happy hour. We started with Ahi Sashimi which was ok. Next, we ordered Chicken Lettuce Wraps and Pizza Margherita. The chicken was marinated in soya sauce to the point that we could taste salt only. As an addition to the wraps, we got a tiny portion of marinated vegetables which tasted nothing but sour. Pizza: it was sitting on frozen, pre-made pizza dough which you can buy at FRYS or any other store. The bottom of the pizza dough was covered with canned tomatoes ( about 1/3 inch thick ), and on top of this "pizza sauce " there was " Mozarella" of such a cheap kind that it was not melting. This " Mozarella" was swimming in the tomatoes from the can. On top of the pizza, one could find a few basil leaves which were dried out, basically old and lifeless. When I expressed my opinion about the " Pizza " quality and the way this food was executed - the MANAGER of the Yard House stated: " what else are you expecting, you are on the west side of the Valley ( !!!!!!! ) " I told them to take this " Pizza" back.
Attention West side Valley people: Yard House believes they can feed you anything, and you will think it is ok because you leave on the West Side !! So basically you are stupid and have no idea what good food is !!!!! The Manager's comment was out of this world and he should be fired immediately.
Next tried Asian wings. We received almost cold wings covered with PANKO breading and some kind of sauce, that was supposed to glue the Panko to the wings.
When we received the bill we got overcharged for the Wings, it was supposed to be Happy Hour, but they charged us 14.99 for the wings.
We just paid the bill and we left with the intent never to go back to Yard House again. I am attaching pictures from their Menu in support of my feedback. The actual " food" at the Yard House doesn't look anything like their posted pictures.
It's a shame that such a great place is being managed by such...
Read moreWas seated quickly at the bar. Bar tender acknowledged us after we were seated & introduced himself. Quentin gave us menus, took our drink orders & served our drink orders immediately. When we placed our dinner orders he asked if we wanted appetizers to be served before entrees. We said yes. The appetizers arrived first as requested. The Poke Nachos appetizer arrived first. Hubby, son & I agreed it was absolutely delicious. First time we ordered this at Yardhouse. It had marinated raw ahi, crispy wontons, avocado, serranos, white truffle sauce, sweet soy ginger sauce, sriracha aïoli, cilantro, green onions, nori, sesame seeds & chopped red tomatoes. We'll definitely order this again & again. Then the 4-Cheese Spinach Dip arrived. The dip was hot & melty & very tasty but the tortilla chips it came with were the thicker kind & didn't taste freshly made. The chips tasted like it came from a grocery store bag of tortilla chips. Kind of disappointing... The reason for the 4-star rating for Food. We all wished it came with the crispy wontons that came with the Poke Nachos. Those were thin, light, warm & tasted freshly made. Their fish tacos are yummy as always. Then the dinner entrees arrived. They were good-sized portions, hot, freshly-made & very tasty. My son had to bring home half of his dinner entree because of the generous portions plus we were somewhat full from the appetizers & drinks. It was busy during dinner time but our food order arrived very timely. Service was very good. Our counter space at the bar was clean. Quentin made sure our empty plates were removed quickly to make room for the rest of our order. Ambience was nice w/ just enough lighting. Good selection of music playing in the background was not too loud. Plenty of tv monitors at the bar area showing different sports. The restroom needed some tidying up but it's understandable as it's such a busy dinner time that they need all hands on deck. We always enjoy coming to Yardhouse. It's one of our favorite casual places to...
