Mr. Alberto Mexican Food — Restaurant in Glendora

I stopped there en-route to Pasadena. I'm vegan and my guests are not so i did not order anything. One ordered the menudo and the other a torta. This is their feedback: the menudo was too hot and the condiments was very scarce. They didn't want nor require a lot but the amount given was scarce. The torta had too much salad and beans and not enough meat...too much filler. On our way out one of the guests needed to use the restroom. I kindly asked if there was a restroom we could use as one of my guests, a woman, needed to use the restroom. The woman flatly said no and turned around to her duties. They obviously have a restroom for the staff and if their restroom is not meant for patrons then there should be signage posted. I won't go there as there are no vegan/vegetarian options. My guests also stated not going there...

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. just went there now and asked for nachos with just chips, cheese, and guacamole. I asked for extra cheese and when I check they did not. I asked again and the guy said they can put extra but they would have to charge I said fine but that's litterally no cheese so put a hand full he grabbed a PINCH I kid you not a PINCH of cheese and i looked at him like are you serious? He said there was more at the bottom and there was not at all And walked away while I was still talking and the guy did not come back from around the soda machine ugh rude staff and when someone pays for nachos you expect a fair amount of cheese paying extra or not come on! If they were picking up their phone I'd be leaving a comment with the manager as well! Never again will...

I've been an off-and-on customer at this location for six years or so. The folks behind the counter - register and cooks - are great. As far as others saying staff aren't so friendly, well...come on now, really? Not to justify bad behavior but maybe someone had a bad day. There's another Alberto's not far in Covina. Try that one! The food? I've never had a bad or skimpy meal there. My favorite is their carnitas (always moist!)...carnitas ANYTHING! Prices? Competitive. I tried the place across from Azusa Community Church and vowed never to return; I could have bought two Alberto's burritos for the price of one there. There are a lot of reasons why Alberto's has been at this location for years and years! Figure it out...and enjoy! Oh, and...
