I have been to this establishment many times since the pandemic, never had issues prior to this. I have presented my Driverâs License at this establishment and never had an issue. I was told by the bar tender working Sunday evening, August 3rd in the beer garden that my ID was fake, even though itâs real. I actually initially giggled. Her words were you canât be born in 2002 with your IDN starting with 31. Which is clearly wrong because I was born in 2002 and got my driverâs license 2 years ago and this is my accurate license. Iâve had the same IDN since a child, iâve had an ID since I was 10 due to traveling all the time. IDN never changes on any identification card over the years. I then said âlet me call my momâ so I can tell her what was going on, I have NEVER had this issue before. Bar tender then says âyour mom canât do anything.â Never implied my mom would do anything but clearly ms. bar tender wanted to become hostile. So ofcourse after she kept insisting itâs a fake and her reasoning was accurate, I became upset. As anyone would. Blonde hair and blue eyes manager comes out and says the same thing. Oh then proceeds to show their teenager employeeâs fake ID to compare mine. Only comparison is the IDN starting with 31 and the birth year of 2002. But his clearly looked fake and mine did not. Then laughs that his scans as well. interesting. Showed them proof that they were indeed wrong from online government source and showed a photo of my passport. NO APOLOGY. Anyways, I wouldnât recommend this spot to anyone born after 1999 because they will assume your license is a fake. ESPECIALLY if your IDN...
Read moreLast night, my wife and I visited The Fainting Goat for a late-night dinner. Since it was late, the bar was the only area open, which gave the experience a more intimate, laid-back feel. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with dim lighting and a cozy atmosphere that made for a pleasant dining experience.
For my entrée, I ordered the Blackened Chicken in a Lemon Sauce ($19), served over angel hair pasta with tomatoes, asparagus, peppers, and spinach. The chicken was well-seasoned and had a nice blackened crust, while the lemon sauce added a bright, tangy contrast to the dish. The pasta was cooked well, and the vegetables provided a good balance of texture and flavor.
My wife opted for the Fried Buffalo Cauliflower ($10), which had a crispy coating and a nice kick of spice. She paired it with a glass of Josh Cellars Pinot Noir $10), which complemented the dish well.
The biggest disappointment of the evening was the lemonade ($3), which was extremely watered down and lacked any real flavor. It felt more like lightly flavored water than a refreshing drink.
Our server, Dee G, was attentive and friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Despite the limited seating options at the bar, the service remained prompt and professional.
Overall, The Fainting Goat offered a solid late-night dining experience with good food and a welcoming atmosphere. While the watered-down lemonade was a letdown, the service and entrĂ©es made up for it. Iâd consider returning to try more of their menuâhopefully with a better drink...
Read morebe aware of brunch times and kitchen times-it is NOT listed on their website I'd give 2.5 stars, and am rounding up because I think this place is probably great when there's more staff (there is a staff shortage notice on their website--still I don't think it excuses the frustrating communication experience below).
My partner and I decided to check out this bar after a hike in John Heinz Wildlife refuge. We apparently arrived in some sort of kitchen purgatory. When we first sat at the bar at 2:30, the bartender let us know that it would be a brunch menu until 3:30. We decided on brunch items and put in our order. The bartender then let us know that the kitchen had already started turning over their line, so we could only get two of the items we ordered.
We figured we could order from the full menu at 3:30, so cancelled one item and ate the cheesesteak egg rolls. These were really good! Anyway, we ended up waiting until 3:45 but kept on getting conflicting times as to when the kitchen would actually reopen. One bartender said 2 minutes to us, the other said 35! There was a failure to communicate, it seemed, between staff. Frustrated, we left.
The bar itself had good ambience and the food and beer we had was yummy but the staff and communication was just so frustrating. One more note: when we were there, there was two parties of loud middle aged women celebrating âSunday funday,â another reason we...
