I'm an ice cream lover, so Coldstone is one of my favorite indulgences. The ice cream here is made in house (not sure if it's daily or not, but doesn't matter) and the flavors include standards (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry) and lots of others (cheesecake, coffee, cake batter).
Their "signature" ice cream treats are one flavor of ice cream with 3 mix-ins (like oreos, peanut butter, almonds, strawberries, etc) that are manually folded together as you watch on a refrigerated slab behind the counter (the titular "cold stone"). There are lots of suggested combos to pick from, or you can request your own mix. You can have it served in a paper cup, or for a little more you can have a waffle cup or cone in regular or a variety of chocolate dipped combos.
Other treats on the menu are milkshakes, Reese ice cream cups, and take-home sized containers for the ice cream. There are also amazing pre-made ice cream cakes, or you can pick one from a book and order if it's not in stock.
It can get kind of expensive if you're bringing multiple kids (a pimped-out signature creation with a dipped waffle cone can get around $7+), so I like to pick something shareable in the large "gotta have it" size instead of multiple "like it" sizes as there is not much price difference between the 3 sizes. Thats just me though, feel free to spend as you...
Read moreI remember when Cold Stone first came to Goldsboro. I started going there and I loved it! I'm a chocolate lover, so I would always get the chocolate flavor. It was a bit expensive for the I Like It size, but it was worth it for me. You could tell this was homemade. Then, little by little they started adding new ice cream flavors. I tried the cake batter sample one day, and I absolutely was taken back to licking out the cake batter from the bowl my grandmother would make. It was addictive! Then I got wild on my next visit and asked to them to mix the chocolate with the cake batter and wow, I was in love! Just blew my mind! I stopped going so much because it was getting expensive. But I recently went one day and was looking forward to that one of a kind taste and I have to say, I was beyond disappointed! I ordered the chocolate cake batter flavor, which now they sell as one flavor, but it was nothing like it used to be. It tasted like stale ice milk, that rich fulfilling flavor was gone. I almost cried knowing I had wasted almost $4. I can't understand when a business has a good thing going that people love, they go changing things and mess up the taste. If they don't make some positive changes soon, I fear their doors will...
Read moreMy wife and I visited the location in Goldsboro on 10/10/2022 in the evening at approximately 7:00-7:30 pm. During our visit there seemed to be a plumping issue to which the two young girls working did such an amazing job of dealing with that and not allowing it to impact the customer service. During this extremely stressful situation, they were both courteous and professional. One girl was handling the plumbing issue, while the other girl took care of the customers. Not once did my wife or myself feel as if the experience was unpleasant, but instead came away extreme impressed of how these two YOUNG girls kept their composure and apologized for any inconvenience, to which there was none. I hope your company can recognize the two young girls from this evening, and I wished I had gotten there names, but I am sure you have a way with all the technology readily available to look this up. Please take time and recognize these young girls, and celebrate the one girl showing urgency to deal with the issue at hand and the other young girl behind the counter who truly represented your company in such a precessional and...
