Gus's New York Pizza & Bar — Restaurant in Goodyear

After a year of not coming here my uncle and I were craving Gus’s pizza and wings decided to come back could not remember why we stopped coming. We show up to watch football to find out they no longer do the Sunday ticket. Even when asked if they did the waitress was not sure and seemed confused what that was. To double check we asked if we could borrow the remote and find out, she began to get upset and tell us no. She seemed very annoyed with us asking about the Sunday ticket and to try certain channels to double check. I should have known they didn’t have the Sunday ticket with how empty it was only 3 tables full. If your a pizza and wing sports bar no reason you should be empty on football Sunday. They also no longer have pizza and wing specials and the wings seemed over price. We order our food decide to give it a shot still put the game on our phone. We get our wings first no napkins. We ask for napkins she respond one moment as we’re eating a few minutes pass still no napkins and our hands and mouths are a both filthy she comes out attends a few other tables. Then after several minutes of waiting she brings out the napkins but gives napkins to another table first( further away table) before us who asked originally. At this point I see she is clearly annoyed for what ever reason. We call her over one more time because the wings we ordered tasted not hot at all like medium and we requested hot. We asked if we can get a side each of the buffalo hot sauce. She returns with two sauces saying I asked the cook and he said yours our hot but if it’s not hot enough he mixed up hot with something else for you. We didn’t request that we requested a side of the buffalo hot sauce what ever they provided us was so nasty and horrible I am not sure what they were thinking or doing. We finally get the pizza and thank god the pizza looked great nice and hot a bit crispy just the way a pizza should be no flop. It was fantastic what we needed to turn this visit around until we got to one of our last 4 slices. Their was a big nasty long hair in it. At that point I was disgusted we didn’t eat that slice and the experience is ruined. I used to always come to Gus’s every Friday night and Sunday. Now it will be atleast 5 years before I try it again. Get Sunday Ticket, get your old wing recipe, have napkins and cheese along with peppers at table or atleast bring them out for customers, most importantly...

Today I called in a pizza order while on the road traveling with 6 people in one vehicle for pick up. When I arrived at the restaurant we asked if we could eat in and I would be buying additional items and include tip for the pizza as well as though we were eating in the whole time. The hostess said yes and we took our seats but then came back to tell us the manager said no we can't (no fault of hers she was nice) It was approx 5-530pm on a Monday (not a holiday) so you get the picture... it was not busy. More than half the restaurant was empty in-fact when I entered the front staff wasn't even attending to anyone they were standing at the register waiting to assist customers. It makes zero sense that the restaurant would not want tips for their waitress and more money from us. They weren't packed there was plenty of seating and no wait time. The only thing I can conclude in this scenario is that they have horrible customer service and do not like making money or maybe it was just our money and they were discriminating against our group. Even after explaining to the manager we were traveling and had been in a car for hours he could care less but did oblige by refunding our money and taking the pizzas. At the end of the day all we wanted was a quick pizza and to be on our way to get home. We got that but not at Gus's nor would I ever return to this or any other location based on this treatment. I totally get it if they were busy and there was a wait, but in this scenario there was zero validity to asking...

We came in for graduation dinner, and happy they were open. The service was definitely poor. First, our orders were too confusing for the server, then she rang up each ticket to confirm, then took it back.

We still had no drinks. We ordered unsweet tea, but they said they have no sugar or sweetener. And the tea tasted old. She offered sweet tea, but a few of us are diabetic and can’t have it. Then three of our party was served food and drinks, and we were still waiting on drinks. We offered to go up and get it ourselves, and she snapped i got it.

I ordered a burger, medium well, but it was rare, almost raw. I took it up to ask them to cook it longer. The server acted like I was lying, and said I wanted it that way. She wanted to argue. I said I wanted medium well, not rare. The head cook said he will cook it longer. The burger was salty and still gross.

Then, we asked for napkins and silverware, which we never got. The rest of us received our salads, but still no utensils. I also ask for salt and ketchup. The girl came and dumped a bunch of ketchup packets on the table. My cousin also got the Parmesan and pepper flakes himself.

Then we sat and waited for the bill. My sister and I waited. The server saw my lil sister leave and said, “She didn’t pay!” My older sister said we have one bill, and I was waiting on mine still.

Sorry to say, awful experience and service. Pizza and salad was good, even fries. Too bad the servers ruin it for this establishment. It was a lot of money for...
