Carlos O'Kelly's - Grand Island — Restaurant in Grand Island

Arrived to the restaurant to find not many cars in the parking lot. Walked inside and was greeted by a nice young lady who promptly told us it wold be a 15 minute wait. We decided to stay but noticed a lot of empty tables. After a little more than the 15 minute estimated. We waited awhile for a server then as she flew by she said she would be right with us. When she did return she nice and ask what we would like to drink. My wife and both asked for water with our dinners and I ask for ask drink from the bar. A different young lady brought out the bar drink rather quickly. The server brought our water and some chips and salsa. She took our food order and disappeared into the mist of an under staffed and disorganized. When wecam ed in there were dirty tables all around us then while we waited for our food our server was trieing to pick up the dirty tables and serve her customers. Well we ate our chips an salsa like it was the main course and I had anther drink! Then our server announced that they were out of potatoes which my wife had ordered. She ordered something else and we waited. She brought out our food a d we did not have any Silver ware. Neither of us are very hungry at this point but we were looking forward to a nice meal. Apparently while they prepared the replacement for my wife's potatoes, the rest of our food was basking in the glow of the food warmer. So my taco Shell was crispy on the ends but the middle was protected by the white sauce which was more like a plaster than a sauce. My wife did not like hers either so we ate some of it. I’m giving this visit one star simply because of management. Our server was pleasant and attentive and the food was normal for this location. We got there in plenty of time before happy hour was over but the server was busy and didn’t greet us right away. A different girl brought our chips and salsa and we waited. Finally our server came and we still had time so I ordered off the happy hour menu. She assured me that we would get the happy hour price because it was before 6:00. When the bill came-we only got our queso at the correct price. I asked about it and the server took the receipt to her manager. When she came back we were told to “get here earlier”. Excuse me-what?! We WERE here earlier!! And she didn’t even come out to talk to us herself-she made the server tell us. They did fix the price “this once” but we won’t be back. Was not impressed with this restaurant at all. Ordered the FAJITA STEAK BURRITO come to find out they are out steak. I figure ok I will try another option. I decided to try the street tacos. The beans appeared as if the had been sitting under the heat lamp for hours.. The rice had a weird taste to them so no one ate them.. The three street tacos were so small we thought it was a kids meal or someone was playing a joke on us. The meat inside them were extremely dry. MY meal was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! We also ordered a chicken FAJITA CHICKEN QUESADILLAS also dry, ENCHILADA DE MONTERREY my mother-in-law had two bites then picked it apart to find out why it tasted so weird. My father-in-law had the FAJITA CHICKEN BOWL. He is the only one that finished his meal. My in-laws normally really like this restaurant but after this visit they Do Not want to return.
