I am adding to the first post from months previous which follows with quotation marks in this post and I have to say Moodys is still an Awesome place to go for food, drinks, and relaxing with friends. Logan knows whiskeys and bourbons really well and always selects the flavors for the flight that I order. Jeremy is not just a bartender but a fantastic cocktail maker and an old fashioned gentleman. I definitely recommend trying different seats from the dining area, the lounge, to the bar. I gave a four stars for the atmosphere since it can seem loud in some areas from loud conversations echoing off walls. Again, I truly enjoy the place and staff. Try it out! Now starts the last review I posted. "Overall experience was great. The Chef was a five star as all the food was very delicious and presented nicely. The staff were friendly, outgoing, and able to hold a conversation. Ordered a side of Crack fries which had a aioli sauce and bacon. Not overpowering, with a little spice but not burning the taste buds. The tenderloin steak was easy to cut and served with a whiskey reduction sauce that complimented well. Chicken picatta had sweet buttery flavor with the chicken strips being moist and tender. The drunken mousse was okay but not great. Tasted more like cocoa powder, however the whiskey cream topping was good. The vanilla cream cheese cake was fabulous being soft and smooth flavor with the fruit toppings. Tried some cocktails which were a hit and miss on tastes. The thoreau was a strong mint flavor, which I didn't really expect based on description. The strawberry daisy was excellent as was the paper plane. Nice selection of bourbons and whiskeys but no option for flights. Would have loved to be able to try the whiskeys in a flight. The atmosphere was pleasant but wished they would frost the windows and stencil their name into them for better ambience. Not sure why they didn't put there name into the entrance door. Overall I would go back again. Have been several times since the last review and still highly recommend for the food, drinks, and...
Read moreWent here for my birthday. Went super early at 430 to get dinner since we didn’t have a reservation. Restaurant was completely empty. The host was not at the stand. My husband asked for a table from the guy who yelled across the bar and said he was the owner. He then proceeded to be very rude to us when we said no we have no reservation. Your place is empty… and you don’t want my $150 owner? We were offered a tiny measly table and a drink and ignored for a bit before that when happened. I immediately asked for the check after the first drink and went to another restaurant where we got service paying customers deserve for high prices.
This hipster, overpriced, pretentious place needs to learn some old school marketing and service. Or you’ll lose clients who can afford to pay you consistently in a small town of low means.
Edit We did not get a two top. We got a bar table that was about 12 inches above the ground that drinks barely fit on. We asked for a dinner table to have a birthday dinner and got drinks and a side eye. The response from the owner sounds sarcastic, rude and disrespectful. Not an apology but a warning that we did wrong and they don’t. Smh. To restate we were specifically told you cannot have any table here and the only option is these tiny bar tables, in this empty restaurant. The issue is they were angry we didn’t make a reservation for an empty restaurant for a table and then beg for a table. The reply confirms this.
It’s funny that a place I have eaten before spent thousands of dollars in, is now saying it’s not my cup of tea because they did not want to sell me food. Perhaps the owner should not be the host and he should fork out some money to pay people to stand at the host stand who possess some form of happiness and...
Read moreWe went to Moodys for the first time for my birthday dinner in December. Several friends recommended it to us. The atmosphere is aesthetically appealing but the amount of people there made it hard for our party to hear each other. The four of us enjoyed our server. The server was attentive and cracked jokes with us several times. The drinks were great. They were different and worth the price because of their uniqueness. We ordered the truffle fries as an appetizer and they were delicious but they were not a shareable size for our whole party and they were $10. Two of us ordered the Chicken Piccata, including myself, and it was $18 each. The entree was expected to have a lemon taste but me and my friend agreed it was overpowering. My boyfriend ordered the burger and throughly enjoyed it. He said it was the best burger in town. My other friend ordered just a Caesar side salad. She had everyone in our group try a bite of the Caesar salad because it tasted different. She mentioned it tasted expired. I think it was the dressing that caused this as the lettuce was not visibly expired. Me and my other friends were shocked by the taste of the dressing as well. Overall, we would recommend this place for drinks after work or on the weekend but we wouldn’t recommend their Chicken Picatta or Caesar salad and I would be weary about trying...
