Went in at 5:30. There was one family with children who were finishing eating, and three other couples two of which already had there food.So it was empty. My grandpa and I waited 50 minutes for our food and we had asked 4 times if we should leave or order something else and she said sorry she might have waited a second to put in our order(Which she didn’t, I watched) and that they were busy.We pointed out there was no one in there and she ignored that. But again there was almost no one there and half of them already were half way done eating before we even ordered. After getting salads with 1/4 inch of water in the bottom we were about to leave so she offered us soup and we said no we just want our dinner it’s been 45 minutes and that’s unacceptable especially with 3 cooks and no customers. She told us it would be up soon and ten minutes later said they were plating it up.After another 5 minutes she brings us our Teriyaki chicken plates.I had half the chicken my grandpa had and it looked like the left over pieces that normally you’d toss.We couldn’t cut them with either of our knifes they just shredded. We took one bite and after not being able to chew it we spit it into our napkins. It was chewy and gross and I’m not picky about my food. The potatoes were chalky and the green beans were clearly out of a can and had no butter or anything they were just Luke warm. After we told her we couldn’t and wouldn’t eat that she then was willing to let us order something else and we said no Thankyou if one thing is cooked like this obviously the cooks won’t do better on a more complicated item. I’m so bummed! I used to like Black Forest and couldn’t wait for them to reopen. To bad they put so much time and effort into the building to have such lousy cooks who have cost them my business and will cost them others.Eat there at...
Read moreBefore we walked in we could see that one of the entrance doors was taped off due to damage from a roof leak it appeared. We walked in another door and at first glance could see that it was just another typical diner. We were seated shortly after walking in by a nice young lady. The bright color green on the walls was over done and the silverware looked dirty and very very old. The menu had so many items. We both ordered the french dip, mine with fries and his with potato salad. It looked okay when it arrived with crinkled fries that I am sure were frozen and they were unevenly heated, some were cold. I did eat half of my sandwich and it was just okay, very plain, meat & bread only. I only ate a few fries, yuck. At closer look at the other half I noticed a tiny piece of old lettuce on the meat so I removed it and found that pieces of the meat that were actually cold, like right out of the fridge. When I fliped it over I saw green on the bun. Mold? I called the waitress over and told her and her reply was "oh it's probably just avocado from the board when they were making it." I just couldn't continue eating this horrible food. My husband did finish his though, he was pretty hungry and the potato salad looked okay. We had been wanting to try this restaurant for some time now and now that we have we will not be back. I do not recommend this place. The waitress did remove the charge for my meal. Which was nice of her, but I would had rather of enjoyed the meal and done a...
Read moreI had moved away, and came back to town for a funeral. Prior to me moving, the Black Forest was our family resturant we always went to for family gatherings. The service was great, and the food fantastic. After our funeral, my family meet at Black Forest. We asked if we can go to their back dinning area as it more private. We were told no, we asked if we could go into the redone smoking area, again we were told no. I ask why not as I saw three men setting in there. Was told we could not have a booth because there were five of us. Mind you, one of us in a wc. We were placed in the center of the resturant, with no consideration. The young man who served us was in a hurry to assist us. My husband ordered a Chile omelette what he recieved was scramble eggs with a can of Chile over them. Bottom line, we as a family could not believe how far down the scale our favorite place had fallen. Four years ago I would had given a rate of 5 star plus, sadly we give it...
