A most recent story concerning myself and Home Depot. I requested a special order for some tiles, the associate puts it in as a store stock order , when I go to inquire about the order I was then told it was a store stock order not a special order and that they would be in the store within a week. I asked if I make a special order how long would it take for them to arrive, I was then told it could take an additional two to three more weeks. I then asked when will these present tiles arrive and I was told within a week. I waited the week and came back to the store Home Depot and inquired how about the tiles that were ordered for me, I was then told that they would be another week before arriving, I waited my week came back to Home Depot again and again was told it would take another week. at this point approximately 4 weeks have passed since the order started. at this time I got with a store manager at Home Depot he looked them up on the system Windows computer and stated that there were enough for my project in Roseburg he said he would make sure these were shipped to the store and would give me a call to give him two to three days for this to be completed. I waited my two to three days showed up at Home Depot about 4 days later and was informed that the order had never been placed the Roseburg still had the tiles I need it and they receive new order. the manager at this time different person wall sanding there with me play some special order for the tiles to come in from Roseburg some sort of courier Thai delivery. I was told these would be in within a week so I came back the following Monday I wish I was told they had not been shipped yet. I said I need to speak to the same manager and he personally gave him a call so the tiles will be down by Monday. time is passing is now six weeks. the tiles did not arrive on Monday as stated I was told at that time it would be another week. on Tuesday I was called and I was told that the tiles had arrived 40 of them and they were all broken. I showed up in the store three days later after having a conversation what's the associate stating I need these tiles yesterday she told me she would do the best she could. well when I showed up at the store they still do not have my tiles add to order desk I went back to the rack or the tiles were normally displayed and here are 40 of them Auburn 17 of them we're broken shultzy's broken tiles actually show up why did they not at least tell me that there were seventeen and good ones I could use instead of saying they were all broken. I got with the same manager I am tempted to give his name and he gave me nothing but excuses about the system and did not know that they had arrived or the situation or information that was explained to me about broken tiles. Overall the process took approximately 2 months. I do prefer Home Depot over Lowe's but lately the customer service at Home Depot has gotten so appalling that there needs to be a third option coming into the area so people you know I have to keep putting up with the local big box lumber yard or home improvement stores. if you're really want good service go to Fields Ace hardware near Murphy it's...
Read moreI had walked around the store for a bit loading my cart up with some things that needed replacing around my home. The last item on my list was a sturdy pair of gloves so I left my cart right by the door in the store by the garden section to find the gloves. Considering the rain we've been having recently I didn't want anything to get wet and I've done this many times before. When I returned, after a helpful employee directed me to some nice gloves, I noticed that my cart was gone. I asked a nearby employee if they knew what happened to it and they were at a loss as well. Another employee returned and notified me that my cart was at the front of the store. I thought they must be on top of their game since I had left the cart unattended for approximately 3-4 minutes. This is where things start to feel funky. The employee asks me how much shopping I have left to do and if I would like another cart to continue. I didn't but the question struck me a bit odd. When we got to the front the employee, who I presume took the cart, quickly departed after giving the cart to the employee at the front by the self checkout. They, pretty obviously, did not want me to scan my own items. I asked them if they do this often and they said sometimes. The emplyees passing by and a few of the other customers were all staring at me as my items were being scanned and it dawned on me that they were doing all this because they thought I may be stealing. The total came to about 1100 dollars, without the protection plans because who buys those, and I paid. The part that really irks me with this whole situation was the preemptive steps they took to make sure that I wasn't stealing when I had done nothing to warrant it besides not taking the cart outside with me where it would presumably be easier to steal. I don't really care if this is a store policy or not. If they were that concerned that I might have stolen from the store they should have just given me my cart to scan and kept an eye on me through the multitude of cameras and employees they had at the front. Being segregated from the rest of the customers and not being allowed to scan my own items is degrading especially when I haven't done anything to warrant such treatment. Lastly, 1100 dollars is not very much in merchandise and I've spent much more in one go at Lowes without receiving such...
