tl;dr: I would consider going back, but it definitely wouldn't be my first choice.
Party: I arrived in a party of two, we were immediately seated by the front window.
Atmosphere: The walls are adorned with Thai imagery, and a map of Thailand was situated as a large centerpiece. Visually, it was nothing to write home about. The interior was desolate of sound, no music, and my fellow diners were rather hushed.
Drinks: We had water, and I ordered a Thai beer. The water was fine, the beer was okay.
Appetizer: We ordered the Thai BBQ Rolls. They were actually really good. Hot, crispy, flavourful, if I were to return I would absolutely order them again. They were around $12 for an order of 5.
Entreé: I ordered the Lunch special of BBQ Chicken. It arrived with white rice and three bone in pieces of chicken on a bed of lettuce. The spring roll was a nice complimentary side. I found the chicken to be flavourful, hot, and filling. The rice was a good balance against the chicken. The price for this entreé was about $14.
Conclusion: Thai BBQ was a fine establishment. It was rather pricey, but the food was above average so I'll take it. The atmosphere could use some work, and I feel like some music would not go amiss here. The service was prompt, but as I am hard of hearing it was a little difficult navigating...
Read moreI recently dined at Thai BBQ, and I'd like to share my thoughts on the experience.
The Good: Cleanliness: The restaurant was impeccably clean, creating a pleasant dining atmosphere. Speedy Service: I was impressed by the quick service, which ensured that I didn't have to wait long for my food. Excellent Customer Service: The staff provided great service, making me feel welcomed and attended to.
The Bad: Inedible Food: Unfortunately, the food quality was a major letdown. The dishes were practically inedible. Menu Discrepancy: The green curry I ordered didn't match the menu description, which was disappointing. Poor Vegetable Quality: The use of overcooked frozen vegetables, especially peas and carrots, was a disappointment, and the inclusion of carrots and no bamboo shoots was unexpected. Subpar Fried Rice: The fried rice was equally disappointing, with poorly cooked peas and carrots, making it worse than some frozen TV dinners.
Overall, while Thai BBQ had some positives in terms of cleanliness and service, the subpar food quality and menu discrepancies left a lot...
Read moreThis was our 1st time in town, and what a gem we found!! I was unsure first, because of the long menue and location, so we ordered a couple of items to share and sample (i'd recommend to look at their menue ahead of time, to narrow your wish list down, and ask staff for recommendations). Every single thing was delicious and on point! We came not long before the closing time on friday night (more people showed up after us), and they welcomed all. I was a little sceptical to place a big order, thinking it would be subpar, because of the closing time and staff wanting to leave, but the food was coming out of the kitchen quickly, and what a delight every dish we've ordered was!! My husband cooks for leaving, hence i consider myself spoiled when it comes to foods. If you like it spicy, you'll have to ask, and it will be taken care of. Thai BBQ in Grants Pass, OR did not disappoint. We'll be back for sure on our next trip...
