Pros: Food is FANTASTIC and worth the prices. Went with a group of 12 and even though it was rushed with guests, we were able to sit together. Layout is nice and not too crowded with tables, chairs are comfortable. They have a great website set up to easily access the menus, and a good SETUP to offer ordering at the table and delivering food so you can avoid lines. (This has a major con from my visit so please read below.) They take your phone number so they can text you when it’s ready and not hover nearby. There is a lot of room for them to grow and streamline and get better since it’s still fairly new. The property itself is sooo pretty and classic. It’s a place you would feel comfortable getting a little dressed up for a fun night out, or could hang out in sweats. It’s within walking distance of all the downtown grapevine shops and going during the holidays was fun to have a great meal and go enjoys all the gorgeous shop displays and little lights and photos areas. They could put a LOT more tables outside IMO. Also the hall itself was decorated with a lot hanging from the ceiling and wrapped around columns etc, so it kept the floor clear for tables and standing room. This was really smart to me. The bars and drinks were all enjoyed. The bartenders knew what they were doing and kept the drinks flowing during the following down points.
Cons: It was insanely busy and each place seemed to be out of some common dishes because of it. I went thru about 4 of my options at one place. They were very clearly understaffed and overwhelmed by the rush of holiday guests. It could use some sound dampening because it was “bar during a big sports game” loud. I believe ATT phone users were struggling with bad cell service inside to see the menus or get them to load. This slowed down lines because the menus at each restaurant have really small hard to read text. THE TABLE DELIVERY WAS AVAILABLE ON THE WEBSITE for the Italian and Mediterranean place, BUT WAS NOT BEING ACCEPTED BY EITHER. This was a HUGE ordeal because it was so packed, the two places were overwhelmed with not only long lines (this was across the board) but were flooded with online orders and angry customers who were still charged for their food, thinking to avoid lines. They made up for several orders who went up to the counter and were THEN informed. They quickly made their food, but also ran out of common items so some ended up getting refunds and then having to wait thru the 30 minute catch up period and order elsewhere. Collectively my group spoke on this issue the next day and are hopeful the workers at the Italian place got some rest at the end of the day. Because of the huge influx, at one point it appeared they had slowed finally but with ZERO announcement to people there if you were not in line, they shut down ordering for 30 minutes so they could catch up. Thus the appearance of no lines. All of these issues are with the logistics and management vs those who seriously hustled thru what had to be an exhausting evening.
Takeaways: Especially if it’s busy: Ask about the table delivery before using it. Load the menu of choice before arriving and go for having 3-4 choices in mind. This helps the lines move faster. Order a drink before you get in line for food. If your food isn’t ready within about 20-30 minutes, SAY SOMETHING. Those who ordered on the site for table delivery were quickly made their food when they went up to the register. Be prepared to hangout, have a drink, and enjoy the atmosphere. Tons of cute little spots to take photos both inside and outside. I think time and experience will only do this place justice. They have some growing to...
Read moreI have been to this place on many occasions and I used to be a huge advocate and would refer this place to many people but the group that host private events have sent a very suttle but clear message that I dont belong so I will give my very honest but professional review. The crowd here fits a very specific demographic for the large percentage. And given the fact of the message I received today my assumption is its intentional. If they dont want you there they won't say it they are very polite people and professional but they will also show you they dont want you there if your not their typical client. Im never one to disturb the peace or cause any problems but since I was sent a message I will send one to the public. Most of the people that work here for the large majority look the same. They host events for a very specific demographic and the title of there location is european style food hall as seen on the side of the building. It was never a problem until they sent a message that I wasnt invited so it went from being a food hall for the european that includes (burgers..... and tacos.... ..... -_-) to a location that prefers only select clientele. I would never have said their actions reflect that before today. And I will consider removing this comment but if things remain the same way as they are I might reveal a bit more information about what clientele they dont care to be in company of. The crazy part is the event manager is Hispanic which I'm sure was to make sure they meet the diversity and inclusion expectation so I'm shocked of these actions but why would you close off a public area for no reason. Seems like you want to prevent the presence of specific people. I will remove this immediately if we don't continue the pettiness against our kind but the crazy part is their are statues of our people who owned this land before all of this was here and settlers who """"acquired"""" the land from them posted outside of the location for the people to take their little tourist pictures. Why are we acting like this? The next time I visit I will remove this comment and buy a taco to celebrate the end of pettiness but until then this comment will be here for reference of the truth. Just for reference The percentage of Hispanics who are descendants of Native American Indians varies greatly depending on the specific country or region. For example, studies show Mexicans and Ecuadorians tend to have more Native American ancestry, while Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, and COLOMBIANS often have higher AFRICAN ancestry. Overall, Hispanic populations generally have a mix of NATIVE AMERICAN, European, and AFRICAN ancestry. The land now known as the United States (and much of the Americas) was taken from Indigenous peoples through a combination of violence, forced removal, broken treaties, and colonization...
Read moreMade my first trip to Harvest Hall which is within a multi-use complex that also contains the Hotel Vin (a very stylish Marriott, Autograph Collection boutique property), and office space.
Since it is only three months old, I had not been to it yet. My nephew was visiting from out of town and we are both still being very cautious regarding safety for COVID-19. A few days ago we had dinner at a great restaurant that is primarily outdoor seating. However yesterday, it was raining most of the day. Looking for a lunch spot, even if we could have found a covered patio, wasn’t an option as it was pretty cool to be eating outside. Then I thought of Harvest Hall as a perfect solution, because their indoor space is a huge atrium, not a small closed-in restaurant.
Crafted in tribute to the days of vintage train travel, the architecture is stunning both inside and out. Harvest Hall offers four restaurant choices which are upscale kiosks where you get your order to go, and then find a place to eat within the large, beautiful atrium. My nephew and I both chose to order from the Monkey King kiosk (the Asian restaurant), and we both really enjoyed the quality of our food, and it was reasonably priced.
Within Harvest Hall is a separate lounge called Third Rail. On certain evenings it provides live entertainment in the form of musical acts or stand-up comedy on its permanent stage. It is a pretty intimate setting, with not an abundance of seating, so if you are interested in attending you should go early.
In addition, Harvest Hall is connected by a long hallway to the Hotel Vin which offers another dining option, as well as a lobby bar. The complex is adjacent to Grapevine’s vintage railroad train which has three separate excursions available for purchase on different days.
The complex offers 90 minutes of free parking in their parking garage and each hour thereafter is only $1 per hour. The parking garage is directly connected to both the hotel and Harvest Hall, so in cases of inclement weather, you don’t even have to go outside.
If the weather is nice, there is plenty of outdoor seating options at both the hall and the hotel.
This is a win and a great addition to Grapevine‘s already amazing Main Street Historic District, which is within walking distance of the complex. However, once you have spent time at Harvest Hall and/or the Hotel Vin, if you want to also spend time in the historic district, it would probably be better economically to relocate your vehicle to one of the plentiful free public surface parking lots on both sides of Main Street, and it would also save...
