Having moved to Greeley from Loveland in May, my wife and I are still learning where to go for food. I on the other hand need to catch up on my reviews. Coyote's was a good place to re-enter the Frey. Great place for the atmosphere, not too bright not too dark. As a guy who needs his readers it was lit well enough that I could have gotten by. The $2 off appetizers was appealing but my wife and I passed even though we are suckers for southwest egg rolls. Saturday drink deals we great. My wife got a Sangria Swirl, that was potent and tasty and still on the happy hour menu, I had the Blue Agave Maragrita and it was even more potent and tasty. on that basis alone I would go back for drinks. The food... Chips are OK,nothing special, in fact we had more broken bottom of the barrel chips than whole chips for salsa dipping. As always when we go to a Mexican restaurant, we need to ask for salt, our vice is to add too much salt to the chips. Both salsas were tasty. The house salsa had good spice without being hot and the fire roasted was savory and smoky with similar heat, not too hot for those who cannot tolerate it, and just enough for those who do not to complain. Dinner, The wife had the Chile lime tacos they were good in flavor and a little dry, the house ranch style sauce was gone on all three tacos, and the black rice and beans with guac and sour cream were a great combo. I had the birria tacos with flour tortillas. The birria was good and the consomme was rich and flavorful, almost buttery smooth without being greasy. The same black rice and beans came as a side with guac and sour cream. Added the consomme to them and WOW. Service was good and our waitress checked in on us often. My only complaint was the tacos. My wife got (3) corn tortilla Chile lime tacos and I got (2) birria tacos. I specifically asked about the quantity and was told (3) tacos. But, when mine arrived it was (2). When I asked I was told that is was because of the flour tortilla vs the corn. Sorry to complain ,but the amount of chicken and fillings my wife got exceeded my simple birria and cheese, My wife got (3). If that is the only complaint then I hope they can clear it up on the menu. I left full and we did not need another bowl of chips. Strong drinks and good food. I will go back and see about a different...
Read moreAwful experience! My husband and two children went in for the first time tonight. We were seated at a small table which felt very cramped, so we asked our server if it would be possible to move to the larger table right next to us. She okayed the move, and gave us our chips and salsa which she spilled all over our toddlers coloring sheet and walked away without cleaning it up. We ordered a guacamole appetizer which was very tasty and snacked on chips and salsa for about an hour. Drink refills were few and far between and there was no communication as to why the long wait for food. After about an hour and fifteen minutes our toddler was done, and we were running out of patience. This is when we were finally told that there was a 40 top on the other side of the restaurant that was taking precedence over everyone else in the restaurant. Are you kidding me!? No one, not the hostess, server, or manager told us about this until we had sat there for this long! We waited another 15 minutes for our food, and when it was brought out, the salmon was raw and the carne asada plate was sadly sparse and overcooked. The manager came by and he did offer to fix the two plates that were done incorrectly, but at this point my husband was now sitting in the car with an upset toddler so we didn't annoy the surrounding customers, and we were unwilling to stay any longer. The manager did remove the two dinners from the bill, however there was very little in the way of apology, and even less was done to invite us back. Based on the service and food presentation we received tonight, I would recommend this...
Read moreSo the other night my husband and I decided to go to Coyotes. We used to go there years ago when we had kids in the house because they ate free on Sundays. Thought we’d give it a try again since it is so close to our home. Walked in and asked the young hostess for a quiet table. She handed us off to a young man who started guiding us to the right to the only area in the entire room with any occupied tables. It was a loud raucous group of about 5 tables. We went back to the hostess and again said we would like a quiet table. She looked confused and said “I don’t know I will have to ask…..” My husband pointed to the other side of the room where there were no occupied tables and asked if we could sit there. The young man came back and guided us to a dirty table with food all over the table and benches and then he walked away. We looked at each other like “Are you kidding???” We were about to walk out when waiter Keith swooped in. We didn’t even say what was wrong, but he looked at us a knew immediately. “Oh no you are not sitting here. Follow me.” He seated us in a quiet area where there was only one other couple. “Here you go, have a seat and I will be right back with waters and a drink menu.” We sat down, sighed with relief and immediate knew we were going to be taken care of. Keith came back regularly to check on us to be sure we were doing well. We had a wonderful evening all thanks to Keith. We will go back and will hope that he will be there to take care of us if we do. His attentiveness is...
