Smokin' Dave's BBQ - GREELEY — Restaurant in Greeley

I want to share an experience my wife and friend had at your Greeley location. We entered at about 7 or a little after. We seated ourselves at the bar as there was no host at the stand. No biggie. The bartender was nowhere to be found. We waited a bit and then she took our drink orders and food order at the same time. My wife never got her water. We ordered the pickles and got those in a somewhat timely manner. Then we sat and waited and waited for our food. My wife and I shared a two meat combo and my friend ordered the same thing so it should’ve been fairly quick. A couple that walked in after us had their food and were almost done by the time we said anything about waiting. I saw the bartender and the man that said he was the manager, sit there and pour themselves a shot and cheers-ing each other. That was when I finally said something and the manager had the audacity to tell us “the kitchen was backed up”. There were only 5-6 tables left in the restaurant at this time. When our food finally arrived, it was cold. They brought plates to my wife and I since we shared, and both came out dirty with food stains still on them. Asked for new ones and that took 5-10 minutes to get. On top of that, my friend stated that the meat on top of his rice and beans tasted like canned tuna. The girl that took our order and drink order didn’t even cash us out. The manager did. No comps. No “I’m sorry for tonight”. Just the bill, while she sat at the end of the bar drinking. As a local resident, I want to see this place make it, as it offers something different to downtown. But I’m afraid if things keep trending this way, it’s not going to make it. This is my second interaction with said bartender and she’s absolutely horrific at her job. She’s not timely or friendly and has an attention span that is lacking. She’s been called out prior on these review. I’ve worked in the food industry at a BBQ restaurant so I know how the kitchen works. It doesn’t take 40 minutes to prepare previously smoked meats. To say we were disappointed, is an understatement. I hope that some things change but for now, we’ve had our last meal at...

1 star is generous. We order takeout and got it home to discover we were missing 1 meal and 2 sides of coleslaw. I called right away and went back to pick it up. I figured I would be in and out considering it took about 15 minutes to get there, but I was wrong. Waited another 30 minutes for it in the restaurant after I had to take time to track somebody down to inquire about it. Finally get home and of course everything is cold, even the meal that was missed and I just picked up on a 2nd trip. Also, I only received 1 side of coleslaw, I should have checked to make sure I had 2 but I was in a hurry and didn't, so thats on me i guess. I didn't bother to call again because I'm not making another trip for 3 ounces of coleslaw and didn't want to hear an insincere "I'm sorry about that". We ordered sauce but for some reason we got 5 containers of tarter sauce which was weird because none of the meals were fish, and we also received a container that had 1 piece of cornbread in it. I thought that was a bit strange that we received 1 lone piece of cornbread with 4 meals ordered. Now that I've read past reviews I see this is a reoccurring problem since they've opened up. Companies usually build customer loyalty through service received more so than anything else, and if this place keeps at it the building will be vacant sooner...

Sunday afternoon around 2pm. Did not seem very busy inside just a few people at the bar. We had 4 adults and 3 kids, decided to get the Not So Teeny Wahine Family meal side choices were hush puppies, green beans, sweet potato fries, upgraded to large mac and cheese. Plus got a kids chicken tenders and fried.

Took almost 20-30 minutes to get out food. Not sure why it took so long but it did. Kept telling us it would be couple more minutes a few times in the end. Got all our food but no corn bread, guess they had to bake more.

BBQ was great, ribs had good flavor, bricket was my favorite. Kids chicken tenders were over fried, very dark. Could had used more fires too. Mac n cheese noodles seemed underdone.

Hard to get the food, wish they had tongs for serving since it was family style tray. Would have been so helpful.

Once done with the meal we asked about the cornbread, still in the oven she said. As she brought us the check she also brought us the corn bread saying she gave us an extra one for the wait, turns out there was a party of 20 right before us they cleaned them out of food.

Overall, food was good besides a few things, would come back. But...we were are party of 7, waited a while for our food, and only got a 1 extra corn bread for the trouble. Service and the waiting could have...
