Cannot handle making a cup of coffee. Okay, I know Starbucks quit being about coffee a decade ago, but they still call themselves a coffee shop. This morning I ordered a large blonde roast - just a cup of coffee. After waiting 10 minutes, and watching 4 other people after me order and receive their complex chemistry experiments, I was finally handed a cup of tepid brew. It wasn't even warm. I took one sip and then pulled the lid off. It was bland and barely above room temperature. I easily could have chugged the entire cup without any temperature discomfort. I handed it back to the "Barista" who could barely understand, and tried to explain that it was not hot. She finally understood "cold" and offered to "make a new one." I watched her take the same pitcher of water she had used before and pour it through the same filters she had used to make my original cup, and somehow she thought this was going to make it hot? Instead, it was even colder, and came out so weak, it was no longer coffee. She handed it to me and I pulled the lid off to show her that I could actually see through the liquid to the bottom of the cup. It was as thin as mild tea. I finally asked for a medium roast (since that was pre-brewed), with room for cream. She brought me a cup only 2/3 full of coffee that was moderately warm and had 2 inches of space for cream. At this point, I just left. I literally drove across the street to McDonalds, tossed the Starbucks and got a large coffee for $1 that tasted far better and was actually hot. I have been a gold card member for years, but I find myself choosing any place else for coffee more...
Read moreI am so sad. For many years I visited Starbucks daily for a hot tea. No, I am not a coffee drinker, however I visited everyday due to the really cool people who greeted me and were always happy to see me when I came in. About a half a year ago... one of the Managers got really angry at me when I ordered my drink with a new person... It is a tall hot tea, one tea bag, however please put it in a Venti cup and fill it with water. The pricing structure for hot tea is such that they put 2 tea bags in the venti size. The whole leaf tea bags are too strong so I started asking for one tea bag. The Tall and the Grande only have one tea bag. The difference is the size of the cup and how much water you put in it. So I started asking for the tall as it is basically the same thing. Yes, I am aware that I am trying to get the least expensive option. However, I also know the Venti cup out of pocket expense is smaller than the tall cup expense. As a regular daily customer I was shocked at how angry he was and I was so disappointed. Well I stopped visiting Starbucks all together after calling corporate to ask about the policy. She was also very short with me and told me that I will need to pay for a venti size. My question - The cost is no different between a tall, Grande and Venti on Starbucks side. Why would you risk making a customer angry just to make a few extra quarters? Why not just charge for the tea bag and ask what size cup they want it in? I am sad as this was a daily treat that I no longer...
Read more9/16/2022 at 9:20 am - My husband and I just left the Starbucks located at 4320 9th St Rd in Greeley, CO. When we walked in there were four female employees in uniform and a young man in pants and a casual white T-shirt. We were not acknowledged by any of them. Two of the girls were making coffee. One appeared to be stacking sandwiches in a display box. The other was standing by the drive through window. The young man was just standing there and doing absolute nothing. It did not appear he was being trained. A minute or two has gone by by now. Still no one has nodded or said a word to us. The young man in the white T-shirt proceeds around the counter with one of the packaged sandwiches, and in a, comedic lame attempt to impress the staff of females, does a little jump and preforms an over the counter slam dunk into to sandwich box with the other sandwiches. Wow! We still have not been acknowledged. The girls laugh at the lad’s maneuver. Finally, seeing my husband’s and my unimpressed expressions, one of the girls finally, and with great effort, exhaled “can I help you?” Needless to say we walked out. Had it not been for the gift cards I’d accumulated from others over the years, I would never have stepped foot inside a Starbucks. The coffee is just so so, over priced, and the employees are...
