I used to love this place. The people are what made it. Over the past couple of months, the owner has made poor financial decisions that led to him begging customers for money. Mind you, many of the people that go frequently spend a LOT of money here. Myself included. So where that money went and why the business can’t stay afloat is beyond me. The employees all quit, so it’s just the owner. The owner actively talks about his personal life in a non-professional way and he has consistently made many regulars uncomfortable to a point that they do not attend the bar anymore. Prior to going here I had NO idea what kava was. I knew it was a kind of tea but that was the extent of my knowledge. I was a little nervous about coming here because that’s just how I am, but my experience was phenomenal. When we sat down, the bartenders introduced themselves and told us about the different types of teas and kava and their properties. I have anxiety and had no idea how beneficial kava could be for anxiety relief. The drinks were delicious, the atmosphere was fun, and I had a great time! Lots of comfy couches and a gaming room. I was incredibly anxious about coming here, attenpting to research the bar was a lil sketchy because the website doesnt work and the phone goes to the owners voicemail. However once me and my friends were inside and seated, Derrick, the kavatender, was super welcoming and friendly, upbeat and super informative! So much so that the majority of my anxiety dissiapted.
