Currently on a tour to find the best steak and chicken tacos, chips and salsa and lime margaritas (if they have them). Grading each on a scale of 1-5.
Taco Tour stop #29 Los Tejados Mexican Restaurant 2235 Main St Green Bay, WI 54302
Chips and Salsa: The chips were thick, cooked well but did not have any salt on them. The salsa was very watery but had some nice heat, but unfortunately not any real flavor to it - 2
Lime Margarita on the rocks: They do not serve any here.
Steak Taco: Flavor: 4 Fullness: 4 Appearance: 4
When you order the taco you can get it on flour, corn or homemade tortillas. Which we chose homemade. The steak was probably my favorite so far, by how it was chopped up/prepared. The homemade tortilla was really good and fried up just slightly. The taco overall was really good, and had good flavor, however everything just lacked salt and could have really used it.
Chicken: Flavor: 4 Fullness: 4 Appearance: 4
Chicken had really good flavor and was small chunks of chicken which was juicy.
Two different kinds of salsa were provided at the table for the tacos, a red and green. The green was very fresh tasting. It taste like green peppers were blended with a bunch of heat added. The red one was spicy and just tasted like raw spices.
Service - The whole place is very bright and inviting. Our server was so incredibly nice and friendly. He wanted to make sure that you enjoyed everything. He also gave us free guacamole with our tacos. The guacamole had avocado, tomatoes, cilantro and jalapeños. It was nice and fresh, but we had to add salt - 5

Read moreSo tldr: hands down the best tacos I've had in Green Bay! I don't think I've written a review in years but just had to for this place since it's underrated for sure. Recommend the al-pastor, and birria tacos.
I've lived here about 10 years now and travel a lot too, so every time I'm out of town I end up eating some great tacos and wishing we had the same in Green Bay...so glad we have that now! And there's a drive thru too!
I love the Al Pastor - very flavorful as Mexican style tacos (with the cilantro and onions and corn tortilla). They also have some items not listed in the menu but listed inside on little signs - like the quesa birria which is amazing too - meat is very well marinated; I'll add if you use the drive-thru remind them of "the broth". Also I don't know if this is a permanent thing but they are doing Taco Thursdays which is apparently some of the tacos being smaller that day for half price (didn't seem smaller though so maybe it's just a little less meat?). It's already very reasonable priced with most tacos for $3 and Thursdays it's $1.50.
I'll add the ambiance is average- it's clean and neat, but quite basic so far as decor goes. But the food is awesome! Just hope more people...
