I decided to take a chance on this place and was horribly disappointed. I ordered oxtail and jerk chicken with rice and peas and plantains. The rice and peas was very dry and tasted as if it came out of a microwave after being heated up. The jerk chicken looked and tasted like baked chicken without jerk seasoning and had no taste. The oxtail as well looked like it was heated up in a microwave as it was dry with no sauce. My thought; it would appear that this was leftover from the previous day which is why it looked heated up in a microwave. The food was taken from the back where there is no visibility into what they were doing back there. I also had to wait over 20 minutes for them to get me the food even though I was the only one there at the time. This would only confirm my suspicion that they were reheating old food. FYI, I had to throw away the food as it was not edible. I would advise folks to keep away from buying food here.

If you ever visit Florida, you’ve got to try some Caribbean/Jamaican food! Whenever I'm in town, I hunt for that ultimate comfort food, and Island Basket certainly delivered this time. I got the goat, and my partner had the brown stew chicken—it was so good, I almost finished the entire thing! The place was super clean and had a nice selection of groceries alongside the food, making it a great one-stop shop. The lunch prices were really good, too! On top of that, the customer service was fantastic—everyone was friendly and helpful. If you’re in the area, make sure to give them a try, mon! You won't be disappointed!

From the moment I walked in, the place felt so welcoming, with a warm, friendly vibe that made me feel right at home. I ordered the oxtail with rice and beans and the soup of the day, it was all absolutely incredible – the oxtail was perfectly tender, the whole meal was packed with flavor! 😋 I also couldn’t resist getting a slice of their sweet potato cake and a sea moss juice, both were absolutely delicious!

I love that this place also offers grocery options, including sea moss jars! The gentleman working there was incredibly patient with all my questions and genuinely kind, going out of his way to make sure I had a great experience. I highly...

Had lunch there this week while on business in the area. Had a talk with the owner and he really believes in treating his staff and his customer the right way. This type of mindset is less and less frequent in this business race for profit world. I had the Jerk chicken with with rice and peas, the portion was good and it was a solid dish. Also tried the Chicken patty..though I may not be an expert on Jamaican Patties this one was outstanding...the dough was just right and the filling was great..they do have different ones I did not get to try but will for sure on my next visit..come give them a try and you won't be...
