Some of the best service I've ever received, and this is coming from a former server. Sam was phenomenal all the way around. She did an impeccable job at not only keeping up with a large table full of us, but staying ahead. We wanted for nothing. I asked about a cocktail that wasn't on the menu, and she made it happen with ease, and even offered options and asked about my preferences. Another member of our party was after chicken tenders. Not on the menu, but she heard her talk about it, and she made that happen as well.
The portions were all large and very tasty. I'd highly recommend the duck fat fried anything. I ordered the potatoes, but Sam asked if I might want the shoestring fries in the duck fat. I did. They came with truffle oil and finely shredded Parmesan on top, and I could have eaten my weight in them.
The steak was a touch under the medium rare I ordered, but I'd much rather have under than over. Regardless, it was outstanding. Flavorful, perfectly seasoned, needing nothing, but the decadent béarnaise sauce was the perfect accompaniment to both fries and steak.
The bread was fresh, as was the butter. The cocktails were phenomenal. Our glasses were never more than half empty at any given time.
Everything came out in a timely manner, from drinks to dessert. We had one of everything and shared bites. There was nothing that wasn't delicious. The flourless chocolate torte was especially ridiculous. 😍
The atmosphere was pleasantly upscale without being stuffy, the linens were clean and pressed, the tables well-set, and the fact that they have rooms for larger parties is something you don't find often, especially in downtown.
Thanks again to Sam!! Quality service can make even a mediocre meal seem fantastic, so her tier of service, paired with the excellent food quality served here? You couldn't ask for more. That's as good as it gets.
Highly recommend for all size groups, occasions, and appetites, but plan accordingly for parking, as it can be a...
Read moreWe dined here Saturday evening. Our reservation was for 5pm. The hostess was friendly and seated us promptly. Our dining table was well appointed with white linens and a small, yet eclectic, orange lamp that provided the perfect ambient lighting for a romantic dinner. The music was soft and relaxing. It was perfect for a date night with the person you love. The floor to ceiling windows made us feel like we were part of the buzzing city on the other side of the glass. As we sat down a gentleman brought us a plate of pickles and olives that were bursting with flavor. Our waitress was friendly, polite and very respectful. She filled our water glasses and brought us a basket of warm bread that was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside that paired perfectly with the olives. Since this was our first time dining at B. Christopher's she patiently answered all of our questions. The wine list was extensive, but we finally settled on the Barone Fini Pinot Grigio 2020. We were not disappointed. For our main course we decided on the Chateaubriand for two. Our sides were garlic mashed potatoes and braised mushrooms. We chose bearnaise and Maitre d'butter for our steak sauces. Our waitress came by with a selection of steak knives for us to each choose from. The presentation of our meal was like nothing we had been served before. We ordered our steak medium and I specifically asked for no drippy blood. Guess what?? No drippy blood!!! The meat was melt in your mouth tender and so robust with flavor that the sauces weren't necessary, but who can refuse a good bearnaise sauce? And B. Christopher's bearnaise sauce accents the meat so well that I couldn't even stop myself from finishing it!!! We finished our sensational meal with a warm apple tart topped with salted caramel ice cream. From the moment we walked in the door until the moment we walked out the door B. Christopher's was impeccable. We will come back to Greensboro just to...
Read moreWhere do I start? I booked a room at the Hyatt downtown and searched for a good restaurant in the vicinity. However, the restaurant was not a good one. It was not a great one. It was best described as divine. Let me say, I am a proud patron of fine dining. I don’t consider myself pretentious, but I can recognize and appreciate elevated cuisine when I see it. Especially since the pandemic, because expectations have been lowered so much for obvious reasons. I arrived at B. Christopher’s at my 7pm reservation and was immediately seated at a lovely table facing the street through a large panoramic glass window. I started with a delicious oyster Rockefeller. My wife ordered a bowl of an herbaceous French onion soup paired with an iceberg salad wedge that was very simple and elegantly presented. I ordered a main course of filet of beef served Oscar style with a velvety bernaise sauce. As a side, I had a delectable corn brûlée and roasted asparagus spears. The bread served with this dish was airy, light, but with a dense and crispy crust. Delicious! I hadn’t planned on dessert, however, the main courses, and appetizers had exceeded expectations, so I felt compelled to proceed. I chose the fried beneigts with raspberry coulis. It was an exquisite choice. Warm, flaky, with the added acidic jolt from the coulis….truly a joyous culinary experience. I don’t remember the last time I was so impressed with technique, presentation, service, and ambience. I recommend this restaurant with all confidence. It was truly a fine dining...
