So Samuel Cruz (below) was very politely asked by me to move out of the designated bar space (I pay for 2 whole spaces in a parking lot of over 100) because I was meeting a handicapped patron who was visiting inquire about holding a charity event at my establishment (which went wonderfully). Samuel nor his family had even stepped foot of their car before I politely asked them to move to another space. Mind you, both of our parking signs clearly state '24-hour parking for customers, employees, and deliveries only'.
It was less than an hour before we opened for the day, and there was plenty of parking down the stripmall. I admit I got haughty with him, but only in defense after he refused to listen, acting like a total jerk not only in public, but also in front of his probably-sweet family.
I was thoroughly embarassed for his father, who seemed very disappointed with his rude son, and then I found out that my patron heard the whole thing. He (my handicapped patron) apologized to me because he felt like he was being a burden. How bad is that?! All of this because some disrespectful rude kid wanted to park 20 feet closer to eat at Hops (which, on a side note, is seriously really worth a visit). Obviously Samuel has issues, but seriously, how insecure do you have to be to go and post a disparaging review because you couldn't park in another business's designated space? Woe is the life of an internet troll, I suppose.
Even my neighbor, who was standing in his doorway, laughed and said to me 'God that guy was a wanna-be elitist a*hle! Good riddance!' And actually the only reason I even knew to post a reply to this is because Samuel yelled out the window 'I'm gonna post a bad review about you on Google!' Ridiculous. I welcome this guy to get in touch with me.
So as it happens, I deal with people parking in our 24-hour spaces time-to-time, and every single time they have all been very understanding when I or my manager or bartenders need them to move. And I've only had to ban two people from the bar in almost five years. Samuel Cruz is one of those people. If he can't behave politely and respectfully, he's not welcome. Then again, he wouldn't have anything in common with any of my patrons; they're all dynamic wonderful people in their own way.
On a side note, if you meet me in there and mention this jerk, we'll have a laugh and I'll buy you a...
