Reserved a room for my daughters 18th birthday party. It was initially for a party of 15 and then I adjusted it the same day to a party of 25. Stacy told me that since the party was large they required us to order a private buffet since they wouldn’t have the time to do individual orders. She emailed me the email options and I emailed her back my requested items.
The day before my reservation I hadn’t received a call back or email regarding my order. I called the restaurant and again spoke to Stacy regarding the number of attendees and the buffet order and thought that everything was settled.
The day of the party I arrived 45 minutes early to setup the room. As we were decorating we were informed that two of the tables would be unavailable for us to use because our party only had 15 attendees. I then told her that I had told her over the phone that we had 25. She insisted that I had told her 15.
Once the food was served I noticed that we had all pasta dishes and not the chicken with rice and vegetables that I had indicated. When talking to Stacy she was at first completely unapologetic insisting that this was what I had told her until I stated that I know what I said and you just were not getting it. Then the pasta was almost gone and they didn’t want to replace it because they had only planned for 15 people. Why hadn’t they adjusted after we came in early and told them they had the number of people wrong? The waitress also appeared upset because 6 people ordered off of the menu instead of eating the buffet, but several people don’t eat pasta which is why I ordered the lemon chicken in the first place.
They were going to charge 20+ people $16.95 for a meal they had prepared for 15 until we let them know that it didn’t make sense and to either reduce everyone’s bill or bring out more food.
The atmosphere is great, the food is good, they charge you $50-$85 for table clothes and don’t even put tablecloths on their buffet table even though individual tables have tablecloths, and they really need to replace the stained and mismatched chairs. I didn’t appreciate the unprofessional response from the staff even though they seemed friendly enough.. Luckily my daughter was able to enjoy her friends and family but as a mother all of these issues made a stressful night even more so. 2.5...
Read moreMy bf I and the kids went to cafe pasta. I read reviews and quick answered questions. It says kid friendly and even has a kids menu! This place was very nice and upscaleish... It has LED lights throughout the restaurant mirrors for opening spaces and nicely placed decor. There's a bar that scales the main area... An upstairs on both sides. Granted we did go in a bit late because we just drove back from Winston. But i promised the kids a nice birthday dinner. When we were seated we had no silverware. 2 other servers were up top and amongst themselves i could over hear that savannah was supposed to take care of us. She never came. 1 of the 2 servers ended up taking us. She was very nice and personable with us. Everything did seem to take a bit longer but that's ok. We played i spy and 21 questions while we waited. Another table got sat after us and got all their stuff out before us. Its ok though we aren't mad. We both have been in the serving industry for more than a decade. It was also late already and mind you we had 3 kids with us. I had purchased a groupon to dine here sp that's what had brought us in that evening. The food was priced about $$... The kids loved it... They felt like we had VIP status... I just honestly wouldn't bring the kids back because it seemed more adultish. I would love to go again just my bf and i for date night.. Or girls night out... Or business friendly dinners... I ended up tipping the server the bill and she brought out some really cute small desserts for 1 of the kids birthdays with a lil candle. It was adorable and made him feel extra special. I would highly recommend.... Just maybe not so much with the kids. Pictures i attached of what we ordered. I didn't get a picture of the dessert. My daughter and her friend loved the spaghetti not so much the meatballs... (Thats only cause we are italian and no one beats granpas meatballs lol) my bf ordered the steak with veggies he said it was delicious. I ordered just a light salad i added extra dressing it was very fresh. The birthday boy ordered tenders and fries they didn't have a fighting chance. Note: they don't have...
Read moreThis was the third time my husband and I have dined here. They say the third time is the charm...well it wasn't. My husband's food came out wrong, even though the server knew it was wrong she said nothing. Had to have it sent back. He also ordered a Long Island Iced Tea which was fine. Later in the evening he ordered another one, and the "fresh new" drink came out in the same glass. We know this because his old crushed up lemon was still in the bottom of the glass. Why couldn't they take two seconds to use new glass like any other bar/restaurant would? Oh that's right, they don't actually have a real bartender. They have a full bar but no one to properly tend to it. The manager/owner has to make the drinks or whoever else might know how. I myself ordered a second Jack&Coke and waited about 10 minutes for it to come out (place was not busy). When our server brought it to me she actually said to me "Let me know if it tastes right....". It was clearly watered down and tasted nasty from sitting there for so long. They made me another one and later gave me a free cheesecake which was nice. Problem was the cheesecake I received was FROZEN. Why would I want a frozen desert? We had a Groupon which was supposed to take $20 off of our total bill. The server brought us out our check and told us that she would make sure that she ran our card for $20 less then the total because of the Groupon. When she came back she actually ran our card for the total amount and then had to void it out. Thanks a lot. Being sweet and apologizing over and over through the whole meal doesn't make your mistakes acceptable. Food may taste good, but we will not be returning. I can get good tasting Italian elsewhere and not have to deal with this. Oh and they'll...
