Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — Restaurant in Greensboro

My hot dog looked haggard. The hot dog was placed in the bag upside down, smearing the condiments everywhere. After I got over the initial bad impression, I was highly surprised at the flavor of my dog!! This sausage has no skin and it has a snappy texture, it’s really beefy. It also tastes smoked. The bun was wonderful.. perfectly toasted. The bun had a fluffy middle and crispy outside. Freddy’s uses all beef hot dogs..I could tell they’re definitely higher quality than your average hot dog. I was disappointed in the fact the dog was boiled. Or at least it seems like it’s boiled. Or maybe steamed. I think if Freddy’s did their hot dogs the same way they do their burgers then that would be really great!! The burgers have a really nice char on the outside..don’t you agree if the dogs were like that, they would be better? I had some cheese curds. They’re amazing! The cheese curds squeaked like rubber between my teeth. The breading is very nicely seasoned on the curds and the cheese inside is amazingly flavorful! The cheese had a lot of salt, with a very creamy cheddar taste. Try your curds with the jalapeños sauce; I think the pepper added a nice zing. The cheese curds are a little rich.. I might actually order the curds as an entree rather than a side item. By the way, when cheese curds squeak, that’s what you want to hear when you bite them. If they don’t squeak, they’re old curds. I had a lactose intolerant friend with me. We were going to try to order them something but it seems Freddy’s is not the best place for someone like my friend to go. The majority of the menu items are extremely heavy on dairy.. especially the curds I mentioned a moment ago. First of all, they’re deep friend nuggets of cheese and the breading is made from butter crumb. How many milk products can Freddy’s add to just one item? Service was great! The employees were smiling and friendly. They apologized for the hot dog being placed upside down in the bag and for not really having anything my friend could eat. The environment; This was my first experience with a Freddys in this town. Immediately noticed how clean the facility was, the floor was well kept, the booths, and their COVID-19 preventative measures were amazing. Boards above the already tall booths for further spread protection, no drink machines or condiments or contains available to be touched by customers - I loved this. It was lovely see to see a business taking real measures to do their best to protect against a pandemic. I would also like to note that EVERY employee was wearing a mask properly, over the nose and all. I am grateful for their efforts, it is not easy at all to wear a mask all day - but they’re doing it. This alone is worthy of five stars.

The customer service; Started off with a warm welcome from the cashier. He spoke with a good attitude and was kind. Got our order places, gave us our number, and told us how we would acquire our drinks. The woman running the drink department was also kind and very prompt. The man who gave us the food was very kind, gave us the proper condiments that were listed on the ticket before I came to grab the food, and asked if there was anything he could do. Each employee interaction was a pleasant one, that says a lot about a business.

The food; Holy wow!! That was delicious!! We tried the number three and number four. A double burger with the regular toppings and a patty melt, respectively. Each one was delicious in its own ways. The burgers were cooked to perfection, and the fries - glorious. They have tiny shoe strings fries and I dare say the best fries I have ever had, yes, better than McDonald’s. The seasoning, the flavor, the ingredients were all exactly how you could want them to be and better.

I will be returning to this location and hoping the the quality is consistent. Nothing in my order was wrong as a few other comments make. I will update this review if anything changes but as of now, they have made a...

This was my second time at Freddy's (first near Charlotte, second here).

The steakburgers are very thin (in the most wonderful way, believe it or not), so I recommend a double stack. They're so full of flavor and such a great texture. I have gotten the California steakburger.

Their fries are shoestring and delicious (I add a little salt) and that Freddy's fry sauce is so amazing I took a few packets home last time. The first time I went, I got the chili cheese fries. It was a little much and you had to eat with a fork because the fries are too thin to pick up by hand without the toppings falling off. It was okay, but the regular fries with the fry sauce are much better.

As good as all that is, the best part is the frozen custard-- the concrete. Think of a DQ Blizzard but with so much more of whatever you got in it (I recommend the chocolate brownie delight concrete!). It is FULL of brownie chunks. I'm about to drool thinking about it, and my eyes are literally watering right now.

My sister and I went together both times, and my 3 kids were with us the first time (ages ranging 3-12) They loved their food too, especially the frozen treats. It was more than a restaurant on the way to vacation, I feel like we made a memory! When I brought back sauce I got a pack for each of them because I wanted to show them I went to Freddy's again.
