I'm so glad that I made the decision to try this place out today, the place I've marked out on my map for a good long time.
I went in during a slow time so the owner had time to chat with me. She was super patient introducing the dishes: the flavor, the ingredients, the differences, etc. i could tell that she's so proud of the food and I learned something that I had always been curious about.
I ordered my favorite dish, Pad Thai. It's not Lao, but I had seen the picture online, the color was just right. I asked the owner what sauce goes into the pad Thai, she told me it was tamarind sauce that they used. I know then that was the taste I wanted. I ordered mild hot, which gives a little kick to the taste. Squeeze the lime on top gave the dish another layer. It is just right
I also ordered a single house wing skewer. This is where the flexibility comes in because I do not see where in the menu that they sell the skewer separately. I really wanted it, I asked for it, and they were okay with it. The smell broke into my nose as I opened the Togo box. Man! It smells so good! Smoky, tangy, an undertone sweetness, and the meat is juicy.
I've been eyeing the honey fruit tea from the online pictures. It came out to me while waiting for the food, I could taste the tea inside, the owner told me it was oolong tea and they used raw honey, yum! There's coconut jelly, kiwi fruit, strawberry, and chia seed.
I asked for some jeow bong, which is the sauce goes with combo. It's pretty spicy to me with a subtle sweetness.
The seating area is pretty spacious, and it's pretty ins minimalist factory style. It was a great encounter that I had today. I already told my friend to go back to dine in...
Read moreThis is a truly great and authentic restaurant that delivers on both flavor and quality. I ordered the pork skewers, and they were absolutely delicious—crispy, savory, crunchy, and juicy all at once. My wife couldn’t agree more. It’s rare to find something so perfectly balanced in texture and taste. They simply don’t get much better than this.
I also tried the chicken curry, which was a standout dish. They serve a whole thigh and leg over rice, generously topped with an incredible curry sauce. The flavors immediately took me back to my parents’ time living in Singapore, where they would often make a similar curry dish. You can really taste the layers of flavor—the curry, the cinnamon, and an overall richness that’s hard to describe but unforgettable.
Fair warning: the curry does pack some heat! I loved the spice level, but if you’re not into spicy food, it might be worth asking if they can adjust it for you. All in all, this place is a gem, and I’ll definitely be coming back for more. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic,...
Read moreI would give the food 20 🌟!!! Everyone should try the garlic fried baby pork ribs at least once in their lifetime, you will NOT regret this! I'm baffled at how delicious the fried rice is. Such a simple dish but each bite better than the last 😍 My dad said "it's seasoned just right." And 98% of the time his response to food is "it's ok." 😂 I also ordered a Papaya Salad and it is the best I've had in town. Now, a couple of other restaurants make a delicious Papaya Salad but this one takes the cake! All the sweet, spicy, and savory flavors from So-Sapp! have tickled our tastebuds, pleased our pallets, and our mouths feel marvelous! The inside of the restaurant is cute and laid back however, I think most folks order to-go as they have a drive through pick up window. I've enjoyed So-Sapp! 3 times now and all employees that I have encountered have been overly gracious and quick to answer any questions. With polite staff, ridiculously delicious grub, and a fast and friendly laid back atmosphere, one can not go wrong...
