Update 12/23/23:

I recently called to see if they were open, and I was told Yes. I just wanted a quick cup of coffee. I was refused entry into the establishment due to a dress code which is not advertised. Now, it was a bit chilly so I had a coat. It’s the holidays. After calling the establishment I was informed of a “one time exception that could have been made if I was at the door”.

Extremely grateful to be the first review of this establishment. We’ve been following Melrose Greensboro since seeing the place renovate. The place offers a TON of coffee, and wine options. Including mocktails. There is also a business, relaxation level. One with couches, one with standard coffee chairs. You have to try the Mocktails.

Neal( Owner), described the menu in its entirety, and even gave us a discount to try it out. The place offers WiFi, and comfortable ambience music, and lighting. The location is also to the LEFT of the Church St Parking deck. They are open 8-5, and they have an excellent service at 8 PM.

Melrose Coffee in Downtown Greensboro is a fantastic shop.

I typically have 3 criteria for what makes a shop experience amazing.

The space MUST be inviting. This cozy space breathes this premise. The verticality here separates the bar and lounge area, but the upper level is inclusive and inviting. The owner and the staff are open to making suggestions, but you are never really pushed to make a decision.

The food and/or drinks need to be good. I had a 16oz Ferrero Rocher latte with this amazing gouda panini with sundried tomato sauce. Calling it divine is an understatement. Chloe had an iced vanilla tiramisu latte with a chocolate croissant. superb!

No pretentiousness. In any retail environment, regardless of size or structure, it's not advisable to judge your clientele, especially in the middle of downtown. I felt like anyone could come in and be more than welcome to exist...
