I decided to try Condado on a Friday night after 9:00 pm. Surprisingly, there were very few customers inside. I ordered online and received a text confirming my order and that I would get a text when it was ready. The website told me the order should be ready at 9:32 pm, about 10-15 minutes from when I placed it. I sat in my car and waited. At 9:33 pm, I decided to go inside and check since it was past time. Spoke to the hostess, and she went into the kitchen and came out with my food a minute later. I thanked her and went home. I live five minutes away. When I unpacked my items, I immediately noticed the Chicken Bacon Ranch taco was cold with no warmth at all. In fact, the bacon was soft, cold, and clammy. The Rainbow Chard Queso was lukewarm and congealing and the Fire Roasted Street bowl that was also barely warm tasted as if a whole salt shaker was poured into it. Plus, the rice was hard and grainy like it had barely been cooked.
There was absolutely no reason for my food to not be hot, or at least, really warm, when I live such a short distance away and didn’t have to stop for any red lights. Unless, my food was ready much earlier than I was told, and instead of texting me like the Condado text stated would happen, someone in the kitchen just let my food sit there getting cold until I picked it up. I decided to reheat the food and eat what I could because I was tired and hungry and had no desire to deal with calling and complaining at such a late hour. The best part of the meal was the queso. Everything else was a disappointment, even the chips that I found too thick.
I hope my experience isn’t indicative of what to expect when eating from Condado. I really want new businesses to succeed, and I know there are issues with labor shortages and hiring quality workers in the service industry. However, food quality and customer service should not suffer...
Read moreWell, let me tell you about my recent taco-tastic adventure at Condado Tacos on Woodruff Road in Greenville, SC! Now, you know me, I’m always on the hunt for the best taco joints—because let’s be honest, who can resist a good taco? I mean, tacos are like the Swiss Army knives of food: they can do it all!
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a colorful atmosphere that felt like a fiesta exploded in there. It’s like they took a piñata and turned it into décor! The staff was friendly, too. They were so welcoming, I half expected them to offer me a sombrero and a mariachi band.
Molly was a huge help to me and both of my boys!
Let’s taco ‘bout the food! I ordered the “build-your-own” taco, and boy, did I feel like Picasso with a tortilla! I piled on all the fixings like a kid in a candy store—guacamole, salsa, and more cheese than you can shake a stick at. I mean, if cheese were an Olympic sport, I’d be going for gold!
The best part? They have a “Taco of the Month.” This month’s creation was a spicy little number that made my taste buds do the cha-cha! I’m pretty sure I heard them singing “La Bamba” in the background. It was so flavorful, I thought I might just do a little salsa dance right there at the table.
Oh, and let’s not forget the drinks! They have a selection of margaritas that could make a cactus blush. I tried the mango margarita and let me tell you, it was so good that I almost forgot about my worries. If only they could mix me a margarita that fixes my golf swing!
Condado Tacos is a must-visit for taco lovers and anyone looking for a good laugh. Their food is delicious, the atmosphere is lively, and I left with a full belly and a heart full of joy. So, if you’re in Greenville and craving some tacos, don’t taco ‘bout it—just go! You won’t...
Read moreI feel like this place is over priced for what it is. It's trying to be slightly more upscale Mexican than just your local/local chain Mexican restaurant. I ordered the street corn dip and it came in a dish that was was smaller than a saucer. It was served with a big dish of tortilla chips. There was nothing else to eat the chips with. They didn't bring out any salsa or dips like most Mexican restaurants do. They want you to buy it which is a negative for me. The street corn dip was good but nothing that you couldn't make at home in a much bigger portion for not much more money. $10 and you could have a huge bowl of street corn dip and this was over $5. Not a good value. I ordered the build your own nachos. Second negative. Not enough queso, queso didn't have much flavor tbh, and I added the tex-mex beef again very little beef, which is the third negative. Then I added fajita peppers and onions which did not have any sort of fajita cook to them and even these were very scarce. I added the tomatillo salsa and the dirty sauce. The dirty sauce is good I like the heat it has...but it wasn't enough to save the dish. I could get better nachos at any local Mexican place or any local chain Mexican place and for sure could make better nacho's at home for not much more money than the $12.50+ I paid for these. Overall I give it a 3 to 3.5 stars. I didn't try the margaritas which were tempting but over priced. The inside decor is nice...but if this was place packed it would be super loud and the tables are close together which would be even louder. The decor doesn't really make up for the portion sizes, lack of...
