How to describe this place except as a slice of food heaven ☺️! This place is warm and inviting from the entrance, where you are met and seated, then a server is there fairly quickly. Friendly and with good advice for the both of us on the specialities of the day and the place. We opted for breaded zucchini for an appetizer, and...... Wow! Hands down the best breaded zucchini we've had anywhere, which is saying something, as we've had it in many locations across the country. To start, imagine a mini loaf of zucchini that has been breaded, cooked, and sliced to perfection in slices that remind you of a mini loaf of bread, but tastier☺️! The taste is literally just the right amount of crunch, firm without being tough, and very tasty to the point that your taste buds will dance with joy. They are good enough on their own, but a little dab of dressing won't hurt a bit, either. We then both ordered our meals (Lisa had the fish with mashed potatoes and Cole Slaw and I had chicken Monterrey with salad and corn casserolefor the meals).......... And when they came out, what a sight☺️❗ The mashed potatoes are real potatoes (which is great and very rare at many places now days) which are done just right and very tasty, the cole slaw was very good, and the fish was done nicely as well. On mine, the Chicken Monterrey was nicely done and tasty to the point where nothing was needed to make the meal better. The corn casserole reminded me more of cornbread with more corn than usual, but, again was very tasty, especially with a dab of butter. There were also rolls served with the meals. The rolls are to rolls what the breaded zucchini is to breaded zucchini..a definite step above and beyond. Even though we were decently full, we decided to have a dessert at the end of this meal, and opted for the chocolate cake with caramel drizzle and vanilla icing. Homemade tasting all the way and so rich (in a good way) that we couldn't finish it all. This place is a definite gem and a find as well. We would definitely recommend coming here..... The breaded zucchini alone is worth the trip... For many reasons, this is a destination for great food with the trip and the cost (which is reasonable and not overpriced for what you get as well as the superior quality). So whether you are in area or making a special trip or stopping by on the way, a stop to JT's Brew & Grill is definitely...
Read moreThis place has really good food & the servers were really good too. My nephew got the Beachcomber Chicken Sandwich & my brother got the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. I wasn't very hungry, since we had a great lunch earlier in Indiana, so I asked the servers (yes servers, there were 2) if I could order from the Children's section of the menu & they said yes, so I ordered the Grilled Cheese sandwich with Swiss cheese & she said I got one side, so I chose Fries. Everyone's food was great & then she brought our bills !!! Mine should of been $3.99 plus tax since I was told I could order from the Children's Menu. Instead it was like $11.81 with 20% tip (if that's what I chose to leave) & I when I asked why my bill was $11.81 instead of $3.99 + tax she said "they" went ahead & charged you for an adult size portion Grilled Cheese & Fries!!!!!! I said wait a minute, I said I wasn't very hungry & I wouldn't of ordered this had I known this was going to happen. I got a runaround so I went ahead & paid it. Then we got to talking & when I looked at my bill, I was charged $7.99 for a Grilled Cheese & $1.29 for Fries. I then asked to speak to the manager!!! She came to the table & tried to defend the price & I said look, I asked the servers if I could order from the Children's Menu & they said yes!!! They didn't say yes, but we're going to charge you for adult prices (I didn't even see a Grilled Cheese sandwich listed anywhere except on the Children's menu) or I wouldn't of ordered it, because I wasn't really hungry. She wanted to give me the difference in a gift card & I declined, because I won't be going back, so she did reluctantly give me $5 + change back but didn't say...
Read moreThis was our first visit to JT's and we told our server this. We were seated at 1:20 p.m. I asked her opinion on a couple of options and she answered and then walked away before we could order. We waited a long time for her to come back to take our order which was 1:45 p.m. Meanwhile, another couple came in and were seated near us, and then 10 minutes later anither couple arrived and seated near us. Both of these tables had bread brought out to them immediately. We never got any and I thought maybe you had to order a special entree. By 2:00 p.m., both of the other tables had their food, and they had ordered sandwiches just like we did - so much for the bread theory. Finally at 2:15 p.m. we got our food delivered by someone from the kitchen. The fries were hot and crispy, but the chicken tenders were barely warm. My husband said his pork tenderloin was good, but also barely warm. Not sure what was going on and no explanation given. Our server final reappeared with drink refills and a few minutes later gave us our bill and said no rush. After we finished, we waited on our server to reappear to pay our bill. She never did, so we just left cash on the table. By the time we left, it was 2:45 p.m. Not a good experience and I'm sure there was some kind of goof up on either the server's part or the kitchen. When that is the case, own it and let the customer know what is going on instead of just leaving them to sit there wondering where...
