A sad addition to the Greenwich town in which it’s another overpriced, vastly underwhelming restaurant trying to sell meals for 1.5x-2.5x the meals actual worth. In addition with sides almost costing the same as an entree (How does broccoli cost $13 and a full size original pizza cost $18 (in addition to $5-8 dollar per toppings if you want)) and with wine prices being borderline criminal. It felt that any meal on the menu I could get for cheaper and potentially better at any of the adjacent restaurants surrounding Pasty’s. The restaurant feels like it’s leaching off the name and is using only that fact to surcharge and overprice everything.
The staff forgot orders and were all over the place. Multiple meals were not given at the same time leaving half the table done before the other half. The half that didn’t received their meals waited 5-15 minutes for pizzas. The pizzas were half burnt soggy mess that left little to be desired to the point I was thinking about going to another pizza place. In addition throughout my time there it felt our personal boundaries kept being consistently invaded with waiters reaching over our heads or shoulders instead of politely asking us to move. This feeling in regards to the coldness felt by the staff was also perpetuated by the constant hovering of staff like hawks around people who have either finished the meal or looked almost done to try and take their plates so they can get us out of the place. It felt like the coldest transactional experience in which the customer receives the shortest end of the stick and the staff just wants you out the moment you are done potentially ordering.
Their is a ton more that could have been typed in the review but to conclude:
Pros: Good appetizers Cool layout of the restaurant
Cons: Vastly overpriced sides and wine Meals coming out at vastly different times Staff forgetting orders and charging them Cold and Hovering Staff Pizza was burnt and subpar Other meals (non pizza) were also subpar.
If you want a good pizza go anywhere else for a similar or better pizza as it can’t be worse. If you want to go out, go to an Italian restaurant that has pizza not a pizza restaurant that...
Read moreIf you are looking for a Patsy’s NYC experience, you will not find it here. My wife and I have eaten at Patsy’s for years and even went to Patsy’s 69th St. in Manhattan last week. Outside of the name, this is unrecognizable and does not provide the same aesthetic that I know from Patsy’s.
My review of. 2.0 reflects the inauthentic lore of Patsy’s, the laughable portion sizes, and the outrageous prices.
We ordered the Calamari as an appetizer, and I had the Pollo Al Patsy, while my wife had the Chicken Parm. I should note that the Calamari was fantastic and a very good portion size for an appetizer. The entrees however are a different story. The Pollo Al Patsy at $36 had maybe 3-4 bites of chicken, a couple of pieces of sausage, and 3-4 tiny pieces of potato. All of this was served on a plate 4x the appropriate size for the amount of food. As the signature dish of your restaurant this is quite frankly insulting. The Chicken Parm ($35) however was a fair portion, and quite frankly quite good. However as a Patsy’s regular we were quite shocked to learn that not only is a pasta side not included, but when we got our bill we learned it was an $18 up-charge.
If this restaurant had any other name I’m not sure if I’d be writing this type of review. It’d be just another snooty Italian place in Greenwich that doesn’t stack up anywhere close with the Terras/Bar Rosinis of the world. This place was packed on day 2, because of the Patsy’s name/brand; don’t lose sight of why that name brings enthusiasm.
For context our same meal in NYC (which should be more expensive, right?) was $17 Fried Calamari ($20 in Greenwich), $25 Chicken Parm & Pasta ($35 in...
Read moreGreenwich doesn't need another good but soulless expensive Italian restaurant. I was hoping for a copy of their new york location, but they got greedy and decided that Greenwich is a gold mine, so they went "fancy". The decor is not inspiring and the place doesn't feel fun. My wife ordered a glass of super Tuscan and it was $18 for a shockingly undersized pour. Our salad (which we shared) was tiny and we ordered one pizza and a beer. The bill before tip was $70. The pizza was fine but.... This is Connecticut, home of AhBeetz. We don't lack for amazing pizza here. Summing it up, good, but not standout meal, uninspiring decor, way overpriced. They seem focused away from pizza, as the menu features lots of $30-50 main courses. Why??? Doesn't hold a candle to Bianca, Mediterráneo, Doppio, Terra, Pizza Post, the new Frank Pepes in Stamford, Rikkos, Lugano, Grigg Street, Louie's, and many more. Can't see a reason to ever go back, they should have gone fun, family style, huge array of creative pizza choices, well...
