Its funny how the hospitality industry works and how "one little thing" can ruin a whole experience While on a day trip with my husband we decided to look for a dinner where we could have a nice american breakfast: pancakes, waffles, some eggs and sausage, coffee... the usual. So, we looked for options near where we were in Port Chester and decided to give this place a try, because it looked very nice on the pictures, it had pretty good reviews and its menu had exactly what were looking for. The place was pretty neat, looked very nice and clean, the young girl who welcomed us and took us to our table was very nice and our waiter, whose name we cant remember, was super efficient! The prices were very good, the service was really quick. The food was perfect: I had a belgian waffle with syrup, scrambled eggs, bacon, cream cheese and a cup of hot chocolate - my husband had pancakes with scrambled eggs and sausages - we really enjoyed our breakfast. Regarding the dining experience - the only part I disliked (obviously) was the fact that my glass of water had marks of red lipstick and I wasnt wearing any... My review would have stayed there - this long 😂 EXCEPT while on our way out, there was this slightly old woman (not sure if she was a host, manager or owner) with the young female host who had initally welcomed us - and she was saying bye to diners on their way out - and while I thought "oh wow how nice of them" and said "Thanks for all, have a good day!" after she had said bye to the family in front of us, she literally immediately shut her mouth and just gave me a look literally from head to toe with the most bitter face, as if we were maybe leaving without paying and as if she was giving us the Mean Girls "you can't sit with us" stare 😂 Considering we were not in bermudas or flip flops, we left a 20% or 25% tip, we literally had our breakfast and left right away, didnt even complain about the glass of water with a mark of lipstick, because - hey, that could happen... 🙄 I'm going to have to say I believe I experienced there discrimination for the first time? Her look was so rude and out of place - I just smiled in disbelief, because what was wrong with her face? Has this lady heard about the power of word of mouth...? Does she really think she can be this rude and people won't say a thing? 😂 Anyway: a boo for her 👎🏻 Great dining experience - wouldn't return just because of this 🫠 I have never left a negative review like this one - not a fan of spreading negativity... simply thought it was important to share, for whatever it's worth.

I had a wonderful experience at this particular diner mainly because they did not forcibly put a straw in my beverage. This is something that drives me absolutely crazy at plenty of other diners, I have reached the point of refusing to come back to places that do this again and again especially after I politely tell them that I cannot have a plastic straw but they put it in the beverage anyway like it is no big deal.. But aside from the fact that they give the patrons the straws wrapped so they could hand them back and actually listen, I enjoyed all of the food that was served especially the fancy cappuccino prepared with artistry and care. The female server listened to my request of putting the salad dressing for the delicious, Maryland Crab Salad on the salad instead of that plastic container that most diners choose to use these days. Due to a form of OCD I have a terrible fear of unnecessary waste as well as products that may not be recyclable. I do not have the right to impose my view on other people if they want to make certain choices, but I have the right to not be forced into making choices that make the environmental crisis worse. It meant a lot that this diner took my requests seriously. I live over an hour out of town and if I am ever in the community again I will definitely come back to this diner. My server was someone named, Tina and she was very kind and beautiful. People should go to a diner to be respected and feel special in addition to enjoying decent food, which was the case here at the Glory Days Diner every shape and form. I also have a huge phobia of flies around my food more than the average person. No matter how clean a diner is, this is always going to be a problem. But unlike other places, only two buzzed near my plate, and it was not enough to ruin my lunch. Furthermore, I was able to kill one of them. Victory is mine!! I decided to take a photo of the Maryland Crab Salad dish and cappuccino midway into consuming the salad. It was on the expensive side, but well worth the cost.

Stopped by for the first time and ordered a cup of coffee. The breakfast selection was quite extensive as in any other diner but then I noticed the “French Toast with Fresh Fruit.” Not so typical when the norm is just a breakfast dish with a “fruit” or “fruit flavored” syrup. The sides of home fries and sausages were ordered separately. The picture attached is just how it was right before I dove in. The fruit was fresh and a touch of maple syrup was just what I needed to just sweeten everything to get me ready for the day. The location does have parking but it’s limited as per the parking sharing spots with local businesses. There is street parking but you need to pay for it. The seating is comfortable, the staff is friendly, and the meal I had was delicious, the prices are fair and being that I was there for breakfast, the service was fast. I’m looking forward to heading back so I can try some lunch and dinner options. So being that the fruit wasn’t soggy, the French Toast was delicious and the coffee was nice and warm.. I stand with my 5 star rating. If you stop by, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

The food was awesome. It was some of the best home sytle meal I've had. The server was great. Great attitude and checked in on us often. The manager, that was where the atmosphere went downhill. He walked past our end booth and ran into it fairly hard. Enough to jolt my seat a bit. I am sure that it hurt his hip. He said nothing and kept going back to his seat. There were very few people there with nobody behind us, and he kept staring in our direction. When my wife was returning from the washroom after dinner, he jumped up and met her in the isle way and stopped abruptly less than a foot away, put his arms out to each side, as to hold himself up, so the she could not pass and then proceed to talk to one of the servers over the top of my wife's head for about 40 seconds. After 20 seconds, my wife was clearly getting uncomfortable. Just as I started to scoot over to get up, he turned around without saying, "Excuses me" or anything to my wife, and went back to his seat. The dude was very creepy and very rude. We promptly left. I was angry because of this guys behavior, and my wife was clearly upset and very uncomfortable with a complete stranger pinning her in like that. It ruined the whole evening for us. Again, the server was great, and the food was amazing. But the manager was...
