I usually visit the Shake Shack in Cherry Creek because my daughter lives nearby and enjoys eating there and the food is good.
I recently visited the Greenwood Village location with my grandkids, I will never return to this Shake Shack location again.
No Shakes Available: Upon entering, we attempted to place an order at the self-service kiosk. Although there was a button for shakes, it wouldn’t display any options. After trying to figure it out, I approached the counter to inquire. There was only one other customer in the restaurant, and the employees were lounging around, appearing uninterested. I asked about ordering a shake, as it was one of the main reasons we came, and the name of the restaurant and an employee curtly stated, "We don’t have shakes." I expected him to explain further why but he didn't so I asked if the shake machine was broken or something he said yeah, yeah the shake machine is broken. when you think maybe they post this at the ordering kiosks instead of making you guess why the shakes had disappeared off the menu options?
Ordering Issues: We decided to stay as the kids were really hungry and proceeded to complete our order at the kiosk. After finalizing the selections, the system repeatedly displayed an error message: Order failed, try again. After three attempts, I returned to the counter and explained the issue to another employee. She simply said, "You can order here," so we did. Why didn't they invite us to order at the counter when I was up there the first time? Again they were not in the least bit busy. And we're all just standing around looking bored.
Unclean Tables: After ordering, we looked for a table and found that not a single one was clean. We wiped off the least dirty table ourselves and waited for our food.
Undercooked Food: Our order arrived quickly, but the quality was alarming. My granddaughter's burger was visibly pink and undercooked. When I checked my own burger, I found it to be even worse—extremely pink, cold, and clearly undercooked. It appeared as though the patty had been placed on the grill briefly and removed almost immediately. All of our sandwiches included bacon on them and my granddaughter also commented that hers was nothing but pieces of fat both my grandsons and eyes sandwiches had the same bacon, didn't seem cooked and it was nothing but fat. The fries were also undercooked being limp and soggy.
Foreign Objects in Food: My grandson’s chicken sandwich was no better. As he prepared to take a bite, he noticed a long piece of hair in the sandwich. That was the final straw.
I returned to the counter to report the issues. The employees showed no concern and simply shrugged. Their response was dismissive, suggesting that we should have requested the burgers to be well-done and implying the hair could have come from us.
This experience was appalling. Whether this location is independently owned or part of a larger corporation, it desperately needs intervention. Poor hygiene, unprofessional staff, and unsafe food handling practices will either drive customers away or result in the health department shutting it down.
What a waste of money. $54 and we left our food...
Read more1st time at Shake Shack. Enjoyed the double green chili burger. It was definitely smaller than I thought it would be, especially considering the price. The fries you have to order separately. Don't get the cheese fries. It's literally nacho cheese from a can. They served ours chunky which meant the cheese wasn't even hot enough. Eww! I went up, after eating the burger and fries, and ordered a cup of the custard one scoop. First, I had to actually grab the cashier's attention because her back was to me. Then, after ordering I stood there and watched as one girl scooped the custard (you could see the bottom of the cup, that's how little was in there) and put it in a mini fridge. Now, there were people in front of me who had ordered, but was I really going to have to wait until they got their food to get my barely one scoop of custard?? You have to be kidding me. I had to approach the cashier and ask her if I had to wait for everyone else to get their food, only for her to say she was waiting for the cup."it's in the mini fridge... the girl put it in there 4 minutes ago." Doh!! Needless to say, I'm sorry James Corden, you may love this place, but for a restaurant at it's prices, shake Shack will not be getting my service again. Freddy's and Culver's is 100...
Read moreThe order taker repeated the order back correctly but didn't input everything in the computer. Because we were charged $27 and change, we didn't think anything about it. We got our order and only one of us got fries! Upon reviewing the receipt we saw that she only typed in the one. After looking more closely at the menu we noticed that there were no combo meals, that everything is ala carte. The food was not all that good. Our food was delivered fairly fast but the burgers were paper-thin and the green chile on one tasted as if it came from a can. On the smokestack cheddar burger, the red chiles overwhelmed the flavor of the thin burger as well as the cheese and the bacon was so hard I almost couldn't eat it. The atmosphere was really loud, and there were flies constantly landing on us (we were seated inside in the dining room). The tables have adjusters on the bottom that unscrew when the floor mops tangle around them when cleaning is being performed. They should be readjusted so the tables and chairs do not wobble and rock. We moved seats several times because of this. We most likely will not be back because we went out of our way to go here because we heard that the...
